This blanket comes with a hood that can be removed while you are transitioning to warmer weather. It has helped to keep my minis warm after they were clipped and spring decided to hold off for a few more weeks.

Comments about Dura-Tech® Miniature Midweight Turnout:

We use these miniature horse blankets for turnout and travel. There are several choices and I have them all. They look good and are perfect for using at shows. They last and must be comfortable - the horses do not fuss with them. They wash very well. I have not had to replace any of them and for as long as I have had them -- they still look new.

Comments about Dura-Tech® Miniature Turnout Sheet:

This fit my mini wonderfully. Being in Washington we don't get all that cold but we do get WET. This blanket was able to hold up to some of the worst rain storms and still keep him dry.

While it was/is durable he did manage to rip the inside somehow. I sent it off to the blanket repair people and it came back good as new.

        • Dura-Tech® Miniature Turnout Sheet

          Q:

Does this sheet have any fill? If so how many grams? Some people are saying that it is warm in the reviews.

There is no insulation with this blanket.

Answered on 11/16/2016 by Customer Service from Chagrin Falls, OH
          • A:

There are two options for this same turnout. One is a medium weight with 220 grams of fill and the other is a simple sheet with no fill. Shneiders labels them as one item is named a sheet and the other is labeled as a mid-weight. Be sure to notice when you are picking out size and color in the drop down boxes, if there is a selection for a sheet or mid-weight.

No fill. Just a waterproof turnout. When it's cold and raining or snowing I put it over a stable blanket to keep him dry.

No fill, it's just a sheet, but it has some weight to it and not a thin sheet.
