Comments about Joseph Sterling® Conversion Dressage Bridle:

This is a very good quality bridle with nice reins, but the configuration of the bridle is somewhat awkward for use as a snaffle bridle. As a double bridle, it is fine, and I would recommend for that use.

Comments about Joseph Sterling® Conversion Dressage Bridle:

This is a quality bridle. I have a mare that I have been trying to fit a double bridle on, and this is the only one (the 3rd) that fit her. However, because the headstall is one piece over the poll, it gets uneven if you need to adjust just one hole.

Just starting to ride in double bridle, so only ride briefly in the double bridle. Very easy to convert. Love the piece that fits into the nose band. Leather is great quality. I have been riding for 15 yrs & this is my favorite bridle. Very pleased with the quality. Very cleverly designed!

        • Q:

How much larger is the oversize compared to the full? My horse was wearing the full until he broke it but it was a bit tight around the crown piece and the cheek pieces for the snaffle were almost on the last hole. Am I going to be ok ordering the oversize? He has a wide forehead but shorter cheek area. Older style holsteiner.

The difference between the full size and over size. Browband – ½ Larger; Crown – 1" Larger – Cheek – 2 ½" Longer

        • Q:

I plan to use this bridle primarily as a double bridle as I already have a snaffle bridle for my horse that I really like, but I love that this bridle has the cutout for ears and a padded crown. My concern is that since most of the time I will have the padded flash folded up, that this will affect the cavesson and create a little "bump" over the top of my horse's nose. Does it, or does the flash attachment fold smoothly?
Asked on 2/7/2016 by Leslie from Orlando, FL

          1 answer

          • Staff Reviewer

            A:

The Flash Loop that folds away is made of durable but intentionally very soft leather. It's profile is completely absorbed by the caveson padding and you or your horse will not notice any bump when folded in. We have sold thousands of cavesons with this design and have not had any comments or concerns in this regard.
