Ultra® Bit Cleaner and Freshener

$13.99
For horses that are currently used to working with a ported bit. The spoon mouth sets very upright in the mouth with a tipped top encouraging the horse to flex at the poll. Hooks allow you to attach the bit to the bridle and reins keeping the bit in the most effective position. Helps to lighten up a heavy front end, promotes better carriage in the finished horse. Excellent for the horse that tends to over set his head.

Comments about FES Spoon D Ring Bit with Hooks:

Purchased this bit for our gelding who has a tendency to put his head up & stick his nose out. It worked on him like magic and he took to it very well. He likes the solid port much better than a broken port correction type bit.

Where do you attach the curb chain to this bit?

              A:

The curb chain goes on the top 'loop'. The bit hanger on the bit is just in front and the optional bottom 'loop' is for reins.

I don't use a curb chain with mine and I don't see anywhere to attach one. But I have two horses that really go well in this bit without a curb chain.

          Stainless Steel

Bits are most commonly made of stainless steel. Stainless steel can be cleaned and polished repeatedly without damaging the finish. It is strong, durable, and flavorless and does not impact salivation. Some stainless steel mouths are inlaid with copper.

          Copper

Copper encourages salivation to increase the sensitivity of the horse’s mouth. It warms up quicker than stainless steel in cold weather.

          Sweet Iron

Sweet iron is cold-rolled steel. The material appears rusty after repeated use. This oxidation tastes sweet to the horse and increases salivation.

          Rubber

Rubber softens the action of the bit as it is softer than traditional metals. Rubber-covered bits are generally thicker than metal.

          Aluminum

Aluminum is lightweight and easy to maintain.

          Plastic

Plastic bits are softer than traditional metal bits and they are durable. Many plastic bits are scented or flavored.

          Nickel Silver

Nickel silver is a nickel alloy, also known as German silver. It encourages salivation for a more sensitive and supple mouth.
