                  Two part question here:

                  1) What would be the appropriate size for a 15.1 hand Arabian with a petite head. Yes, I know about the "blanket size" thing, but this is less useable as a measurement when one has a very typey, close-coupled Arab.

                  2) Is the color pictured above, on the chestnut, the burgundy?

                    1) We would suggest going with a medium size
                    2) Yes, that is the burgundy shown in the picture.

An answer for question #1 is: I'd go with size Large for your horse. That's the size I get for all my adult Arabians and I've never had a problem with rubbing behind the ears or being to big/loose.
As for #2, I only order the color black so I am unable to help with the color question.

My personal Egyptian and Crabbet arabians I have bought these for all fit pretty nicely in the Medium size. I do have a small (fits my 14.3 quarter horse) but most of my arabians have prominent jaws so don't fit as nice in the small as the medium even the gelding with a head I would describe as petite :).
                    It's a rich dark burgundy.
                    Hope this helps,Mychelle

                    Hi,
Yes, this is the burgundy pictured on the chestnut. For a 15.1 petite headed Arabian I would suggest a size small. Hope that helps :)

It will depend on the blanket size, Small is a blanket size of 64-70, Medium is 70-74, Large is76-80 and X-Large is 80-86.

My pony is stocky, 13 hands, Halflinger/Welsh pony. Would you recommend the small or medium size? His head/neck/facial features are more "horse-like" than slender "pony." He wears a small-sized horse halter adjusted to use the tightest/smallest size, buckle-hole on the poll strap. I want to order the correct size. Can you help? I appreciate it!
