This size is perfect for wrapping around hocks. It took a couple tries for me to get them just right, but once I figured it out they didn't slip down at all. I love not having to deal with ice packs.

          Comments about Dura-Tech Cooling Wrap 16" X16":

I like these ice boots because I can easily wrap them around my horse's legs. They're also easy to freeze--just throw them in the freezer. I love not having to deal with ice packs. I carry these boots in a cooler when I haul to a rodeo, then after my run I put them on her legs. They're still cold, and then she can trailer home while icing down. I use the 16x20 size on her hocks, and they're flexible enough to wrap around her hocks without falling down. It took a little practice, but once I figured it out they were great.

Comments about Dura-Tech® Cooling Gel Wrap 13"x15":

I am rehabbing a very elderly, severely neglected gelding. He foundered and needed relief, so I bought four of these wraps. They are very simple to put on and take off, even when the horse is a little cranky and impatient. I love that you just store them right in the freezer. And the coldness lasts for just the right amount of time (used in April in north central Indiana). My old guy seemed to be comfortable in them, and they didn't impede his ability to walk.

The only thing I can say is that these boots have very good straps that have strong Velcro. The cooling last about a half hour then I put the boots back in the freezer for the next day. Hope this helps.

Cold wraps are most effective when used intermittently, 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off. I wouldn't recommend them for overnight turnout.

You probably could but after the gel melts, it will be looser and could
fall off. The recommended time of usefullness is anywhere from 30 minutes
to an hour based on the fact that if freeze them so that they stay cooler
longer it could be too extreme if left on for extended periods of time.

                  A:

You would have to hold the wrap on to the stifle the whole time. I would suggest just cold hosing the stifle.

Yes, the gel wrap can be used to ice stifles.
