                Recommended Deworming Program:
                March/April and September/October

                Description:
                Safe-Guard® Paste 10% contains the active anthelmintic, fenbendazole. Each gram of Safe-Guard® contains 100 mg of fenbendazole and is flavored with artificial apple-cinnamon liquid. Safe-Guard® is indicated for the control of large stongyles, encysted early third stage, late third stage and fourth stage cyathostome larvae, small strongles, pinworms , ascarids, and arteritis caused by fourth stage larvae of strongylus vulgaris in horses. Safe-Guard (fenbendazole) Paste 10% is approved for use concomitantly with an approved form of trichlorfon.Trichlorfon is approved for the treatment of stomach bots (Gasterophilus spp.) in horses
                 

                Dosage:
                Safe-Guard® (fenbendazole) Paste is given orally. The dose is 5 mg fenbendazole/kg (2.3 mg/lb) or 11.5 g Safe-Guard® (fenbendazole) Paste per 500 lb body weight (227 kg).

                Directions for use:
                Determine the weight of the horse and dial the correct setting on the plunger. Remove the cap from the syringe. Insert the tip of the syringe into the side of the horse’s mouth between the incisor and molar teeth and press the plunger down as far as it will go, depositing the paste on the back of the tongue.

                Precautions:
                Safe to use in in pregnant mares during all stages of gestation. Also safe for stallions. The recommended dose for control of 4th stage larvae, the 5 consecutive days treatment has not been evaluated for safety in stallions or pregnant mares.

                Storage/How Supplied:
                Supplied in a  25g syringe
                Store at or below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C)
