Why Merino Sheepskin?

Merino Sheep represent THE BEST in selective breeding. Prized for their fine, soft wool, since the 17th century, it demands a high price on the market. A Merino Sheepskin pelt has over 50,000 follicles per square inch, making it PLUSH AND THICK - PERFECT FOR PADS OR CUSHION USE! (Merino fiber is so fine in diameter that it would take 5 wool strands to equal the width of 1 human hair.) Wool provides excellent insulation. It absorbs up to 30% its weight in moisture. In warm weather air circulates around the moist fibers to cool you through evaporation. In cold weather wool absorbs your body’s heat and holds it in to keep you warm.

TO CLEAN: Machine or hand wash gentle; mild soap, cool water; air dry out of sun; no heat. Brush or vacuum wool pile to keep fluffy and soft.

This is a natural product of real wool-on-leather sheepskin. Any differences in color, shading, texture, or slight imperfections are considered normal and should not affect the use of this product.

Comments about Merino Sheepskin Western Seat Cover:

This seat cushion is the best I've found. It's extremely comfortable. When I go on trail rides I can get pretty sore by the end of the ride and this seat cushion has helped make those rides even more comfortable. So very glad I bought this. I highly recommend this sheepskin cushion over any gel pad. The sheepskin works!!!

Comments about Merino Sheepskin Western Seat Cover:

It's REAL sheepskin, not just thick fleece! My husband took the first one I ordered, so I had to get another. Now I want one for each of our saddles! The wool is really thick, dense, fluffy, and just the right length. And it stays put while riding! Even when leaning way off to the side to open & close a gate. I'm very impressed with this seat cushion!

I have this seat cover and like it very much. It is soft and comfortable but it’s not thick enough to change the size of the seat of my saddle.

Here are the instructions for the saddle.
Tie the strings around the saddle horn, swells or down to the d-rings. Move the ties to the other grommets for a better fit necessary. Wrap the elastic or pocket around the rear of the cantle.

I preferred to run the strings through the grommets and then up to my d rings. My husband left the strings as they were when we received the sheepskin, ran the strings through the opening under the saddle horn and then attached to his d rings. Hope that helps

To Schneider- I was rather dumbfounded to get such an email from you! If you don't know the answer to questions on items in your inventory then you should be going back to the manufacturer for the answer.
To the customer- I was perplexed as well. My advice is to use whatever is on your saddle to run the strings through. I have small brass d-rings that worked on my endurance saddle. I do like the seat cover, very comfy.

Stays in place with cantle elastic and T strap. Two front ties allow adjustable attachment at swell, horn or D rings. Look for metal eyelets on underside.

I put the strings through the hole in front of saddle horn, then brought the strings up, and tied them around the saddle horn.
