Ultra® Bit Cleaner and Freshener

$14.99
Sweet Iron Comfort Snaffle features wide barrel and copper inlay 5" mouth. Unlike traditional snaffles, the Comfort Snaffle features a free-rotating barrel and curved mouthpiece specially designed to not pinch the center of the horse's tongue, avoiding pain and discomfort. Horses tend to be more relaxed and are able to concentrate on their work instead of worrying about the bit. Horses tend to pack this bit with more confidence than a regular snaffle that pinches.

Myler Bitting System

Every horse and rider combination has an individual need that may require a specific bit.  As each need of horse and rider change over time and progress, it may become necessary to either upgrade or downgrade depending upon the level of your horse’s training or rider’s experience.

Mouthpiece level:

Level 1- Features a curved mouthpiece that allows the horse to swallow.  Uses tongue pressure and bar pressure, working mostly off of the tongue.  Myler bits distribute tongue pressure more evenly than traditional designs.  Uses restrict and release action.  May offer curb or poll pressure depending on shank design.  May offer independent side movement.

For horses that have just begun training or have had little training.  For horses that   have just begun to break at the poll and just learning basic gaits.

Level 2- Features a curved mouthpiece.  Uses less tongue pressure and more pressure, with the mouthpiece rolling on the bars.  Applies pressure across the tongue rather that in the center.  May collapse into the bars.

For horses where basic training has been established.  For horses that are relaxed at the poll and holds position when rein is released.  For horses that possess more complex skills, such as bending, collection, side passes and lead changes.

Level 2-3- Features a curved, ported mouthpiece for tongue relief.  Offers variety of pressure points and more bar pressure, rolling on the bars.  May collapse into the bars.
For horses with a good mindset and can benefit from more tongue relief.  This level is for horses with advanced skills but requiring more control.

Level 3- Features curved mouthpiece with tongue relief.  Offers a variety of pressure points to take the horse as soft as possible.  May offer palate pressure depending on port height.

For horses that are considered finished.  For horses that are relaxed at the poll and possess advanced skills and work great off of the riders legs and hands.

As your horse learns and progresses, your communication levels will change.  Each Myler bit is designed to use select pressure points to provide the best communication for that specific level.

Comments about Myler Dee Sweet Iron Comfort Snaffle:

I purchased two of these bits for our horses, we want to keep them soft in the mouth and the comfort bits fit great. They are very easy on the mouth. No pinching. We will continue to use these even after training...our horses seem to really love the copper inlays and they lick and chew like they are content...They are pricey , but our horses needs will always come first...

Comments about Myler Dee Sweet Iron Comfort Snaffle:

My horse was always playing with his bit and it never seemed like it was comfortable for him....what a change this bit is for him. He responds well with it and playing is down to a minimum....it just seems so much more comfortable for him....I highly recommend this bit for every horse.

Comments about Myler Dee Sweet Iron Comfort Snaffle:

This bit is very comfortable for the mare I bought it for. She responds quickly & easily to all cues. I like Myler bits because the action isn't as harsh as a regular snaffle ie: they don't make a "point" into the upper palate & they don't collapse into the tounge. The bit is spendy but worth it!

              What bits are made of...

If you have any questions about this product or a type of bit, please contact us at 1-800-365-1311 or service@sstack.com
              Stainless Steel

Bits are most commonly made of stainless steel. Stainless steel can be cleaned and polished repeatedly without damaging the finish. It is strong, durable, and flavorless and does not impact salivation. Some stainless steel mouths are inlaid with copper.

              Copper

Copper encourages salivation to increase the sensitivity of the horse’s mouth. It warms up quicker than stainless steel in cold weather.

              Sweet Iron

Sweet iron is cold-rolled steel. The material appears rusty after repeated use. This oxidation tastes sweet to the horse and increases salivation.

              Rubber

Rubber softens the action of the bit as it is softer than traditional metals. Rubber-covered bits are generally thicker than metal.

              Aluminum

Aluminum is lightweight and easy to maintain.

              Plastic

Plastic bits are softer than traditional metal bits and they are durable. Many plastic bits are scented or flavored.

              Nickel Silver

Nickel silver is a nickel alloy, also known as German silver. It encourages salivation for a more sensitive and supple mouth.
