The 3 piece action of this bit breaks over the bars at an angle, while the correction port rotates giving the horse some tongue relief. The dees have hooks to attach headstall and reins which acts like a curb so pull pressure and curb pressure are applied when contact with the horses mouth is applied. This combination makes this bit have lots of feel and control. The copper rollers work to pacify the nervous or bored horse and promote salivation for a soft mouth.

Comments about FES Pro Correction Dee Jointed With Copper Rollers:

Bought this for my daughter's western pleasure horse who has always used a western shanked correctional bit. When my daughter introduced her to english riding in an ordinary snaffle she didn't get much of a response. This correction bit mimics the western bit the horse is used to.. just without the shanks. It is working well for both horse and rider.

        What bits are made of...

If you have any questions about this product or a type of bit, please contact us at 1-800-365-1311 or service@sstack.com
        Stainless Steel

Bits are most commonly made of stainless steel. Stainless steel can be cleaned and polished repeatedly without damaging the finish. It is strong, durable, and flavorless and does not impact salivation. Some stainless steel mouths are inlaid with copper.

        Copper

Copper encourages salivation to increase the sensitivity of the horse’s mouth. It warms up quicker than stainless steel in cold weather.

        Sweet Iron

Sweet iron is cold-rolled steel. The material appears rusty after repeated use. This oxidation tastes sweet to the horse and increases salivation.

        Rubber

Rubber softens the action of the bit as it is softer than traditional metals. Rubber-covered bits are generally thicker than metal.

        Aluminum

Aluminum is lightweight and easy to maintain.

        Plastic

Plastic bits are softer than traditional metal bits and they are durable. Many plastic bits are scented or flavored.

        Nickel Silver

Nickel silver is a nickel alloy, also known as German silver. It encourages salivation for a more sensitive and supple mouth.
