Comments about Insta Hot Power Max Portable Washing System with Cart & Basket:

Portable water heater was great for on the go. We normally are able to bath at home in the barn with hot water all day long. However when we have to go on the road to a show we don't always have a way to bath with hot water. This heater worked so well. We were able to bath four horses with no issues.

Hi, yes it is safe but you do have to make sure there is proper ventilation.
Use in Isle, or in my case I set it up a spare stall I use as a washroom.
No problems. I love it and it works very well.

I actually purchased this for my son’s riding instructor so I’m not 100% sure but since she lives in New England and is planning to use this during the winter I don’t think it needs to be vented. If she uses this outside it would make for very cold horses!
                    Hope this helps...

I believe it can be used inside a barn. It has a vent on top of the unit. I use mine outside on a wash rack.

I haven't set mine up yet but I'm going probably set it up and either leave it covered up outside, or remove the propane tank and store that outside.  good luck.

I want to use and store this system in an unheated barn where temps will be below freezing. I see from the other Q&As that it needs to be drained. Is that an easy process? Can you please explain what the process would be?

                    A:

Their is a plug on the bottom to drain. You would need to blow compressed air through the unit. If there is any water in the unit the coils will crack. We highly suggest to bring the unit in to the house or warm area and to not leave it in the cold.

What am I doing wrong? I have an insta-hot power max and it seems to only stay warm for like a min and then it goes cold. I have turned the water pressure down but that didn't help. I can wet my horses neck and then it goes cold. Any suggestions to keep it running warm and not get cold?

For our portable series they are all pressure activated and require at least 20 PSI to activate.

Water flow through the heater is necessary for the heating of the water.  If you stop or slow down the flow of the machine turns off as well as when there is
an increased flow of water, the propane is ignited.

How much is consider LOW water pressure or the minimum water pressure????  I cannot directly answer. Possibly the manufacturer has used different water PSI testing.

I can't answer your question as I have great water pressure BUT I can say this unit works very well! I had all the hot water I needed. My husband added stainless screw and washers to hold the unit to the stand more securely and he had to drill the hole larger where the unit attaches to the stand. Minor issue for us but could be a problem if someone is not handy with tools. Sorry I cannot address the low water pressure as it does not apply for me.......Horseryder

I don't know what my water pressure is, but I have low output well and a pressure tank.  My Insta-Hot works just fine.  I expect, my water pressure is way below a city water line.  Sorry I couldn't more specific.

I went to use my unit and discovered that the water pipe inside had split over the winter. I thought that it was drained properly, apparently not. I cannot figure out how to open the front, in order to, possibly, replace the pipe? I have taken the screws for the front cover off, but the knobs are holding it in place. I cannot figure out how to remove them?

You may have to use some force to get the knobs off. You can use Quick Fix welding adhesive to fix the pipe inside.

If the unit is not properly drained and cared for in freezing temperatures, it does risk damage. It is recommended it is stored in above freezing temperatures.
