Comments about Dura-Tech® Double Lock Bell Boots with Fleece Lining:

These were too small for my Shire cross (ordered size XL), which was a bummer for me because I really wanted some fleece lined boots for her. But they fit my friends Cleveland/TB cross perfect so it worked out. Boots were good quality just didn't fit.

Comments about Dura-Tech® Double Lock Bell Boots with Fleece Lining:

I bought these boots to keep on my horse while he is in his stall. His shoes are set back and I needed boots to keep him from pulling his shoes off in the stall, either getting caught in the rubber mats or him stepping on it. Since these boots are heavy duty thick, they do the job well. I used other bell boots prior and they tore quite easily. He has worn these for over a month with no rub marks.

            • Q:

How true is the sizing chart? I have an OTTB and so hoof is long and low. I'm finding 'Large' seems to be too big with most bell boots, despite her being 16.1hh.

These aren't too long as bell boots go.  The problem with these is they tear from the bottom easily.  I need to keep bell boots on my horse at all times, and he had one of them torn within a week.
The kind with the simple velcro closures have tougher rubber, but the closures rip easily on those, and the kind with the more durable closures (these) tend to have weaker rubber!  Won't somebody make durable bell boots with sturdy rubber AND closures?

The large size fits my 15.1 hh OTTB just fine... he has one long, low foot
and one that is more round and upright (a nightmare for the farrier!)

A large fits my 17h Warmblood who has a big foot. It will cover up his
                eggbar.

I have a 16.1 warmblood, and the mediums are a bit small for her. They
fit, but just barely, but at least not bouncing up and down on the ground
with every step. (in case that helps)

I have a draft cross (so very large feet). Has anyone ever used these on a horse with large feet? I ordered XL and now wondering if I should have ordered XXL, or if either will even fit at all.

These run small. I have a warmblood who has large feet.  I bought her XXL.  She normally wears an XL.

I order these all the time because they are reasonably priced and the largest size I can find.  I probably go through 3-5 pairs a year.  I always order the XXL for my 17+ hh Anglo-Arab. He is a big guy but does not have draft size feet. And he is barefoot.  They are about as good a quality as most of the synthetic fleece bell boots out there and the only brand that I have found that sells XXL.  The rubber is soft, but not the most resilient.  He regularly takes a chunk out of the rubber. The fleece and the Velcro last longer than the rubber. My two cents, try a pair of the XXL and see what you think.  Sometimes you just don't know until you try.

I have a horse with size 1 shoe and a 5 in drop and he wears the XL, the XXL might work better for your horse

There is a size chart to compare the sizing on boots you have now or to measure the horse.

I ordered an XXL for my Friesian gelding. I don't think an XL would have worked.

Great thing is they do have a good return policy but it doesn't hurt to measure and see if they have a chart. Worst thing is try a boot and return.
