Comments about Insta-Hot® Insta Hot® - Power Max Portable Washing System:

Like several others, I found that the water input fitting was pure junk. The minute I turned on the water, the fitting blew apart. I called and Schneiders is sending me a new one. They tell me they will send a much sturdier part, the problem is with the Insta-hot people. I'm hoping that from here on my experience is much better! (Apparently my original adjective, starting with "cr" and ending in "ap" is flagged by their profanity filter. Seems like a very valid engineering term to me!)

Comments about Insta-Hot® Insta Hot® - Power Max Portable Washing System:

The input connector for a garden hose is defective and blows apart into two pieces as soon as the water is turned on. Also, the plastic coiled output hose has a hairline crack in its connector so a fine water mist sprays at all times. The unit itself works great, but the connectors are junk and useless. Be prepared to replace all of the associated hardware. For the price I paid, I really expected good quality throughout, and that was not the case.

        Service and delivery comments:

I had no issues with delivery. It arrived quickly and in perfect condition.

        Junk brass input hardware

Comments about Insta-Hot® Insta Hot® - Power Max Portable Washing System:

This could be a great product if they had spent an extra couple of bucks to provide a quality water input hardware component. The one provided has such a small lip when unit is hooked up to the water source it blows from the pressure, spewing H2O everywhere. Imagine waiting all winter for the larger unit to finally become available, the perfect warm, sunny Sunday afternoon, the perfect dusty horse after the perfect workout. Setting up the unit on the perfect concrete wash rack, turning on the water and BAM input hardware blows apart!!!!!!! Now the perfect day becomes one of anger and frustration... Add in the fact that the hardware is not available at your local hardware store. It must be special ordered adding another week to ten days before you can use the unit you just paid over $400 for and need NOW!!!! Really????? Manfucturer scrimped on a less than $6 item which without renders unit worthless!!!!! SSTACK is sending me another component however I hope that it's not junk too....My local plumber is locating me a quality one at this time. Signing my real name Mary C. Murphy

The heater unit does not secure correctly. It is as if the bottom hanger on the cart is tool large to fit into the heater unit. Have you had any other complaints with this problem? Are we putting the heater on the cart the wrong way? Is there a problem with my cart? heater? Its almost like my husband would have to drill the the hole larger to secure it on my cart. Please advise.

The hole on the unit is smaller than it is supposed to be. We have corrected the problem but a few of them were shipped prior to the problem being corrected. Contact customer service and they will be happy to replace the unit and/.or cart for you.

I'm sorry Tina, I'm no help to you. I didn't buy the cart, but only purchased the heater, which I then bolted to the wall of my wash rack. We never intended for our unit to be portable.

Hi, yes it is safe but you do have to make sure there is proper ventilation.
Use in Isle, or in my case I set it up a spare stall I use as a washroom.
No problems. I love it and it works very well.

I actually purchased this for my son’s riding instructor so I’m not 100% sure but since she lives in New England and is planning to use this during the winter I don’t think it needs to be vented. If she uses this outside it would make for very cold horses!
              Hope this helps...

Their is a plug on the bottom to drain. You would need to blow compressed air through the unit. If there is any water in the unit the coils will crack. We highly suggest to bring the unit in to the house or warm area and to not leave it in the cold.

For our portable series they are all pressure activated and require at least 20 PSI to activate.

Water flow through the heater is necessary for the heating of the water.  If you stop or slow down the flow of the machine turns off as well as when there is
an increased flow of water, the propane is ignited.

How much is consider LOW water pressure or the minimum water pressure????  I cannot directly answer. Possibly the manufacturer has used different water PSI testing.

I can't answer your question as I have great water pressure BUT I can say this unit works very well! I had all the hot water I needed. My husband added stainless screw and washers to hold the unit to the stand more securely and he had to drill the hole larger where the unit attaches to the stand. Minor issue for us but could be a problem if someone is not handy with tools. Sorry I cannot address the low water pressure as it does not apply for me.......Horseryder
