This half moon port Dee ring keeps the horse's attention and increases positive response to the bit. Comments about Robart Pinchless FES Pinchless 1/2 Moon Dee:

I have used this bit on horses who have never had a port, English, Western, Trail Riding they all love it! It gives the rider MUCH more control over the horse than a snaffle but doesn't seem to be too harsh. All the horses I have ridden it in have become softer and more responsive. A great bit for some one who knows how to ride to transition up from a light snaffle or to transition down from a harsher bit. I'm buying 2 more!

Comments about Robart Pinchless FES Pinchless 1/2 Moon Dee:

This is well worth the additional cash, and I will continue to purchase this bit as opposed to a regular run of the mill segunda/half-moon bit. The pinchless feature is very affective at protecting the horse's tongue from getting caught in the bit. Additionally the port of this bit seems to be a bit shorter and longer than a traditional segunda, but has a little bit more bite in the "pointy" parts. Good for horse's who are unresponsive to the traditional segunda, or who don't really like the higher port.

What bits are made of...

If you have any questions about this product or a type of bit, please contact us at 1-800-365-1311 or service@sstack.com
Stainless Steel

Bits are most commonly made of stainless steel. Stainless steel can be cleaned and polished repeatedly without damaging the finish. It is strong, durable, and flavorless and does not impact salivation. Some stainless steel mouths are inlaid with copper.

Copper encourages salivation to increase the sensitivity of the horse’s mouth. It warms up quicker than stainless steel in cold weather.

Sweet Iron

Sweet iron is cold-rolled steel. The material appears rusty after repeated use. This oxidation tastes sweet to the horse and increases salivation.

Rubber softens the action of the bit as it is softer than traditional metals. Rubber-covered bits are generally thicker than metal.

Aluminum is lightweight and easy to maintain.

Plastic bits are softer than traditional metal bits and they are durable. Many plastic bits are scented or flavored.

Nickel Silver

Nickel silver is a nickel alloy, also known as German silver. It encourages salivation for a more sensitive and supple mouth.
