"I really like the strainer! With heated buckets I haven’t used it to break ice byt it’s been awesome to keep large water buckets clean. Though we scrub buckets often it’s great for keep hay and bugs out of the water. My recommendation would be it would work better if the netting was rounded not forming a point. But it’s strong and durable, I like the padded handle, used all winter."
"This strainer is great quality. I would make the handle an inch or two longer so reaching the bottom of the tank easier. Otherwise, it does a great job of removing hay and detritus from the horse tank."

"Works great to clear ice from frozen paddock water! You can use either the handle or the top of net to break the ice, then scoop out keeping your hands dry. Highly recommend!"
"This tool is great for getting chunks of ice out of the water trough. I think the old design had a sharp spike of sorts on the end to help break the ice. This version does not, but usually is strong enough to break the ice. This is so much better than trying to pick out the ice chunks by hand!"

"I want so badly to put 5 stars because the device is extremely sturdy and I thought it would last for many years, but. . . I used it during 1 water shift a week for 1 winter at a horse rescue that has 36 paddocks and 40+ water tubs. We do use heated tubs, but run into ice frequently when outlets trip, heaters malfunction, etc. The design is flawed in that the mesh netting wraps around the hoop, so to smash ice, you have to smash the netting between the metal hoop frame and the solid ice. The netting is barely holding on in spots. If the design could incorporate designated ice breaking points along the perimeter that do not destroy the netting, the device would deserve 5+ stars!"
