"Previously, we used long lead lines tied to the posts in the barn. We found that the snaps kept breaking off. We don't have ""chewers,"" so it didn't matter that they were just rope. I decided to buy these because of the stretch, the snaps, and the covers. We used eye bolts in the posts. These work great! So easy to connect and disconnect from the horses' halters! I feel that the horses are safer now, too."
