Oster A5 Two Speed Equine Clipper

The Oster A5 has two speed options: normal speed at 3000 SPM for sensitive areas like ears and bridle paths, and high speed at 4000 SPM for tougher trimming tasks. This two-speed design gives you more control and precision depending on your grooming needs, whether you're working on a thick mane or delicate facial areas.

Yes, the Oster A5 is designed to cut through thick manes with ease thanks to its powerful high-velocity motor. One owner specifically mentioned using these clippers to roach their horse's very thick mane that was difficult to trim, and they cut right through it without issues.

The Oster A5 is compatible with all snap-on A-5 blades, giving you flexibility to swap different blade sizes for various grooming tasks. It comes standard with a wide size 10 blade for smooth, even cuts across larger areas.

The Oster A5 is quiet enough that most horses aren't bothered by the noise, according to owners who regularly use it for mane roaching and fetlock trimming. This makes it a practical choice for nervous horses or those sensitive to loud grooming tools.

The kit includes the two-speed clipper, a durable 12-foot cord, a size 10 blade, a zippered carrying case, oil, grease, a comb, and a helpful grooming DVD to get you started. Everything you need for basic maintenance and grooming is included right out of the box.

The Oster A5 is built to last—one owner replaced their Oster A5 after 20 years of use and bought another one because they were so satisfied with the durability and reliability. The USA-made construction and heavy-duty universal motor technology ensure consistent performance over time.

While the Oster A5 is excellent for detail work like trimming ears, bridle paths, fetlocks, and mane roaching, it can handle body clipping if needed—though owners note it's time-consuming for full-body work. It's best suited for targeted grooming and pre-show touch-ups rather than heavy clipping projects.

Yes, the Oster A5 Two Speed Equine Clipper is backed by a 1-year limited warranty, so you're covered against defects. This warranty gives you peace of mind when investing in this professional-grade grooming tool.
