These heavy-duty waterproof turnout blankets and sheets allows your horse to stay comfortable and dry no matter how rough they play out in the pasture. Aridity™ Bamboo Charcoal inner layer wicks moisture away from the horse, keeping them more comfortable during temperature changes. Enlarged tail cover acts as a better wind and rain barrier. Extended gussets with 3M reflective patches and tail stripe for added visibility at dusk or for night turnout.

Patented VTEK® Wither relief blankets are designed to prevent rubbing and relieve pressure on high to moderate withers. They are uniquely designed to fit Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, Appendix horses, or those with Upright Shoulder Conformation. They include an extended drop to cover a deeper heartgirth and they are shaped with darts at the hips to give a more contoured fit around the rump. Extends 6 to 8 inches onto the mane.

How to Measure a Horse for a Blanket
The most accurate and easiest way to determine your horse’s blanket size is to measure along the side of their body, from chest to tail. First, stand the horse square on a flat surface. Measure from the center of the chest, straight back to the very edge of the tail. Make sure to measure along the widest part of their shoulder and hindquarters. The number of inches measured in this way is your horse’s size. Look on the size chart for any Schneiders blanket for this number of inches to order your horse’s perfect size.

"I live in the hill country of southern CA and have had horses for almost 60 years, so when I buy equipment I try to be thorough in my due dillegence in order to spend wisely. I was happy with my previous blankets which held up for over 10 years, but it was time to replace them for 2 of my older mares. The ARMORFlex Warrior II VTEK Wither Relief Adjusta-Fit Bellyband 80g Lightweight Turnout Blanket met all my criteria. The fabric material, weight and treatments work really well for my circumstances. Winters can get windy, wet and below freezing here, but doesn't snow. My light weight choice allows me to use an additional light wt FIR sheet underneath for the extra health benefit without overheating my horses. (I've tested this by not getting their blankets pulled off before the temperature hit the mid 60's. . . warm but not sweaty). The wither pressure relief design with the open front and velcro neck/shoulder strap allowes me to adjust for differences in shoulder conformation (one more upright, the other more sloping). The open front is low enough to allow comfortable unrestricted neck movement while foraging either free fed from a box on the ground or grazing. The velcro closure and heavy duty buckles along with the other hardware are all sewn in with good reinforcement and no irritating seams. This is the first blanket that I've used with a belly band. It is more cumbersome to deal with than a simple surcingle. (My mare has stepped on the dragging strap during the donning process and was unphased, but it might be an issue for some buyers to consider) That said, I now prefer the bellybands for the added coverage they provide. Overall, I found these to be a substantial, well designed and made blanket investment so I bought two!"
