            • Q:

I have an Insta Hot Power Max Washing System that ignites just fine but the water doesn't heat. I don't recall anything in the directions about needing to drain the unit in winter or needing to keep it in a heated building but I see in reading others questions that this is indeed an issue. How can I determine if something is damaged on the inside of my system that is causing it to no longer heat water? I put a new propane tank on it and it ignites just fine and the vent on the top of the unit heats up as before but I get no change in water temperature.

I'm having issues with mine not getting hot enough too. The last one I had heated up well, but I didn't drain it through the winter and it broke. I purchased another & apparently they changed it? I don't like it as well due to the fact that it barely takes the edge off cold water & does not provide the warmth that my last one did.

It is possible that your thermostat is bad or there is a blockage in the heater element. You should have it serviced.

Hi there. I haven't had any issues with my unit. I had the turn the water dial, the one with a water drop on it, to the cold (blue) setting. This was confusing as it indicates that the water coming in is very cold; I have well water. After I did this, I had plenty of hot water. Hope it helps; if not, contact Schneiders to see if they can assist.

The heater unit does not secure correctly. It is as if the bottom hanger on the cart is tool large to fit into the heater unit. Have you had any other complaints with this problem? Are we putting the heater on the cart the wrong way? Is there a problem with my cart? heater? Its almost like my husband would have to drill the the hole larger to secure it on my cart. Please advise.

The hole on the unit is smaller than it is supposed to be. We have corrected the problem but a few of them were shipped prior to the problem being corrected. Contact customer service and they will be happy to replace the unit and/.or cart for you.

Hi, yes it is safe but you do have to make sure there is proper ventilation.
Use in Isle, or in my case I set it up a spare stall I use as a washroom.
No problems. I love it and it works very well.

I actually purchased this for my son’s riding instructor so I’m not 100% sure but since she lives in New England and is planning to use this during the winter I don’t think it needs to be vented. If she uses this outside it would make for very cold horses!

Their is a plug on the bottom to drain. You would need to blow compressed air through the unit. If there is any water in the unit the coils will crack. We highly suggest to bring the unit in to the house or warm area and to not leave it in the cold.

For our portable series they are all pressure activated and require at least 20 PSI to activate.

Water flow through the heater is necessary for the heating of the water.  If you stop or slow down the flow of the machine turns off as well as when there is
an increased flow of water, the propane is ignited.

How much is consider LOW water pressure or the minimum water pressure????  I cannot directly answer. Possibly the manufacturer has used different water PSI testing.

I can't answer your question as I have great water pressure BUT I can say this unit works very well! I had all the hot water I needed. My husband added stainless screw and washers to hold the unit to the stand more securely and he had to drill the hole larger where the unit attaches to the stand. Minor issue for us but could be a problem if someone is not handy with tools. Sorry I cannot address the low water pressure as it does not apply for me.......Horseryder
