Classy

Comments about Schneiders Notched Halter Name Plate 5/8":

So many horses, so many halters, so many handlers...things get mixed up sometimes. And expensive leather halters shouldn't get mixed up with nylon ones and put on the wrong horses. I use these name plates on the good leather halters to avoid confusion. They also look really nice as they age and get a little tarnished. They're a bit large so the horse's names should be kind of long. A short nickname might look odd with this large size name plate.

I like this a lot on my geldings halter, just to add that finishing touch. It was a little faded when it came but still completely readable.

Does this nameplate come with screws? If not, where would I find them? Also, would this name plate work on a nylon halter?

The notched name plates come with screws to attach to the halter. Yes, this name plate works on a nylon halter.

I had it attached to my leather halter, so I don't know about the screws or nylon halter.

Yes. The name plate comes with screws and can be used on nylons halters as well. We live them!

Hi,  The halter name plate comes with a nicely designed brass screw-rivet system. You'll need a leather punch to make the two holes and a large flat blade screw driver to fasten the screw-rivets. The name plate looks great when fastened to the halter.
I mounted mine on a heavy leather halter. It may work on a nylon halter as long as the nylon isn't too thin. Otherwise you may have to file the brass screws a bit shorter. Hope that this helps.

Yes, it comes with 2 sizes of screw in rivets.  I used it on a leather halter but I dont see why it wouldn't work on a nylon halter as long as you can punch holes in the nylon.

              • Q:

I just purchased a leather halter that already has holes to put the plate. I want to make sure the plate will match up with the holes, can anyone tell me how far apart the holes should be for this specific plate?

                  The wholes are 4" apart.
