Love these hackamores for the trails. It was a bit stiff when I received it, but starting to soften with some oiling and use.

Simple hackamore without a lot of extras that were not needed. The training horse I use it for loves it. Will use it on other horses.

I trail ride for 6-8 hours at a time and like for my horse to be able eat grass at breaks and this allows him to eat easily. I also don't think it is as harsh as other hackamores.

Comments about FES Hackamore Fleece Lined 6" Chrome Plated Cheeks:

I got one of these at a local tack sale because I wanted to see if a hackamore would work for my high-energy thoroughbred. His last owner liked to yank on the bit, so he became very hard-mouthed and I have been working for 2 1/2 years to get him lighter on the bit, but he still likes to pull on the bit so I was doubtful a hackamore would even work. This works just as well as the shanked snaffle I usually ride him in, I have even used it for gaming and have jumped him in it (in a western saddle lol), two things that make him very excited! I tried a mechanical hackamore too, but he hated that one and threw a fit, he likes this one. I use this bit to just change it up every once in a while or to give him a break from the bit.

It would depend on the size of the pony.

I would say yes. I'm currently using it on an Arabian with
a short head and tea cup muzzle. He wears pony size headstall.

I have a large headed horse - I usually need an extra large fly mask for
him and a regular horse halter is tight on him. This fits him well. I am
not sure if it would work on a pony. Depends on head size and confirmation
                I would think.
