    Secured Raincoat

    By Savvy Shopper

    from Diamond Bar

    Verified Buyer

Comments about Dura-Tech® Insulated Waterproof Dog Coat - XXL:

During moderate/heavy rainstorms in California, I keep my dogs dry by using Schneider's Dog Raincoats. I love the wide Velcro that attaches the two bottom flaps closed. My senior female especially loves the coat since she does not like to get chilled from the rain while she goes on her favorite walks. My younger pup loves to jump in puddles; and the coat keeps him practically dry. Well done, Schneiders. Great product!

Comments about Dura-Tech® Insulated Waterproof Dog Coat - LG:

I have another coat like this one and use them in the fall and winter season. I own 5 dogs, so these are great in keeping them dry; especially in the rain. Less dog coat to towel dry.
The only thing I would say that could be improved is the belly strap be adjustable on both ends.

This coat was back ordered, but was delivered when promised.

How do you measure for these jackets?

          A:

There are 2 measurements, back measurement and side measurement. The back measurement is from the base of the neck to the dock of the tail and the side measurement is the same as for horses, center of the chest, along the side to the back of the hind legs.

You have to mesure from the shoulder blade/on the back to the tail and from the middle of the front chest to the end of the back leg. Basically the whole side of your dog.

There should be a diagram on the page. I can't get connected to check it out. I believe you measure from the center of the chest back to the tail base. I love these coats. They're the only coat my Doberman doesn't chew off. I believe the shoulder gussets make the difference for her. The quality for the price is greatTeresa

Hi I have a 60 lbs Old English Sheepdog that wears a large non insulated coat. My other dogs have the insulated waterproof coats. They keep the dogs very warm and dry. I live in the North East where it gets very cold to. I would recommend getting the XXL. Measure your dog and go on line to see the dementions for each size good. It's a great buy! Highly recommended!

I think this is warm but I've been using their Schneider fleece coat under the insulated weatherproof one for each dog in the coldest weather in Chicago and they seem great! They love love their fleeces. They wear them inside and to sleep at night all winter. It's like their pajamas. Then when we go out I throw the weatherproof insulated one on top. (orange is great for hunting season when we visit Michigan). It seems super warm together. We are walking for about 90minutes on leash though, not running loose. They really don't seem to overheat at all. I really like the flexibility of having both coats for different weather. I have shorthair mixes. About 60lb.
I'd call them to get sizing for xl and 90lb question.

Definitely warm and dry. Sizing depends on how broad your pup is - if too "wide" the Velcro closure may not reach but definitely worth the try.

I would measure from the base of the neck to base of tail like they suggest and pick the coat that is closest. Mine measured sl less and I bought up a size. My dog is lean and the belly strap fits perfectly. It is plenty warm for my dog but we are not in MN! You guys get much colder than we do in MO.

I would recommend Large. I recently purchased a number of these coats. They are great quality and there is some adjustability with regards to girth. The most critical measurements are the neck and length. I tend to feel that a tad to big is better than too small.

I bought this blanket in two sizes as a gift for my sister's two dogs.  I only used the back measurement since the size chart does not include side measurements. They both fit really well and she loves them for her Doodles.   They have curly hair, not fur, so they get cold.  Your dog measures as a large according to the chart

          Hello Anthony.

I bought this jacket in a size "medium"  for my part Terrier, Lucky.  It fits her perfectly with about  two or 3 inches inches hanging over her tail end.  She weighs about 38 pounds and measures 20 inches from neck to above her tail.   The chest is perfect sized for her and there is plenty of room to connect the Velcro closing.  Her girth is about 28".  I like that it is water repellant and being a farm dog, the material does not collect bits of hay or straw.

          Good luck, Margaret

The neck is not adjustable, but is a fairly large opening and you put the jacket on at the head first. I have a boxer and his is large for his breed.  I ordered a large and fits him perfectly.  Use the measurements guides from neck to tail.

The front/neck is not adjustable. My dog measured as a large just barely so hers is a little long. If your dogs back is 15" then I would go with a small. The small/medium is for a 17" back.

The opening is generous, you should not have a problem with head and neck.  I have had two of these coats.  One in the past for my smooth coat collie who weighed 55 lbs and was long bodied.  I bought a LARGE for my cattle dog puppy.  He has a 171/2 inch neck and still growing. I bought it for him to grow into,  I'd hazard a guess your Boston is probably a small maybe medium.  The Schneider's size chart is pretty accurate.

I have an english bulldog and he measures 17" on his back and 27" on the side so he is very in between sizes. What size do you recommend for the typical bulldog build i.e. wide chested but not long backed?

Going with the side measurement would be best for bulldog builds, so a medium would work better. It will be long on him, and hang off past the tail.
