Marrita Athena Box
Beautiful box with silver antique finish. Inspired by the Greek Goddess Athena. Elegant horses gallop on each side of the box. Two additional horses on the top add extra detail to the theme. Great gift for a horse lover; this piece will be treasured for years to come.

Inspiration from artist:
While on her visit to Greece, the artist, Marrita, was inspired by the Parthenon which was built in honor of the Goddess Athena. With the wild expressions, rearing poses and bulging veins you can feel the power of these galloping horses. The prominence of horses in the Parthenon frieze continues the theme of the horse evident in Greek art since the Geometric period.

About the artist:

Marrita is a world famous bronze sculptor with a raw talent for capturing the essence of today’s horse and rider. Having trained and shown horses professionally for over 25 years, she has an accurate appreciation for her subjects. Her 30 plus years of successful training in the Quarter Horse industry contribute to the realism and dramatic animation of each piece of art. “There is (No Substitute) for a living model” says Marrita.

Having established herself with her bronze pieces, Marrita has now added resin works to her portfolio. Many of her iconic pieces as well as some new ones are now available to a broader base, while still maintaining the lavish detail of her originals.
