Stable Blanket

I think the blanket is a good fit and its stays in place. Keeps our ottb warm or With single digit and below temps, I can add a liner and my ottb is cozy warm. I don't really like the Ocala leg straps- they seem too wide and look like they may rub. However as this is a stable blanket it has not been a problem yet. Overall blanket is fairly good.

great stable blanket

5

This is a great stable blanket. fits well, and true to size. Doesn't shift and can be cleaned in a regular washing machine. I always hung it out to dry. Good for indoor use and during changing weather. I like the midweight. In New England (and now in Georgia) my horse did not need a heavyweight in the barn.

Great product.

I love that it buckles in the front. My horse hates having things put over her head so this is perfect. It keeps her very warm too. Im in California so it doesn't get very cold. She just gets this blanket at night and stays plenty warm.

High quality and seems very durable. Seems to resist stains and dirt as well. Fits nicely and horse seems comfortable while wearing. Highly recommend!

I would buy this product again

We ordered these but I was hesitant as we never have blanketed in winter- but someone told me this could help- we have limited shelter and our horses are old and out all the time so when it is misting out and turning cold- we needed to leave them in barn all day or all night- now- if not raining sideways- we can leave them out- they are happy- we have a clean barn and the sheets fit perfectly and breathe- the adjust a fit is perfect- as they both needed lots of adjustments to fit for outside wear. This will save us a ton of work and we are very pleased.

Love this blanket

I started buying this blanket a couple horses ago. Found it didn't rub hair off at the front of the shoulder. Stays in place, even with rolling.

Love this blanket!

This blanket is great! My daughter is able to get it on her horse herself. It doesn't slip off and he can't get it off easily. It also brushes off nicely.

Adjusta-Fit® Dura-Nylon® V-Free® Ocala Leg Strap Open Front Stable Blanket - Midweight

About the Ocala leg straps: 1) are the leg straps removable? 2) does the rear connection have the same setup (with the slot) as the front one? i ask because I'm thinking of using this as a liner.

CHR

These legstraps are not removable. They are permanently affixed at the back of the blanket by the horse's tail. We do offer a number of liners, the most similar being the Adjusta-Fit V-Free Nylon Blanket liner which can be viewed here: https://www.sstack.com/Horsewear-Featured/Adjusta-Fit-V-FREE-Nylon-Blanket-Liner/

Ashley

Does the horse tail go under the blanket or over it.

Wendy

The leg strap wraps around the horse's leg from behind and fastens by pulling the clasp through the slot on the side. I wasn't sure about the design at first, but turns out it is kind of genius. Keeps the blanket placed squarely and seems a lot safer than the usual elastic leg straps.

jamescassese

The horse's tail is under the blanket. There is no tail flap on this blanket.

Anonymous

There is no tail flap, so the blanket fits over the horses hindquarters and the tail portion is not covered at all. It is contoured to fit around the top of the tail area, not sit on or cover it but allow the tail to sit as it normally does with no impediments.

airub30

The tail goes under the blanket.

Community Answer

What is an Ocala leg strap?

Lynn

This blanket has a front surcingle strap and the rear leg straps go through the reinforced leg strap slot into the T-lock fastener.

Anonymous

The leg straps on this blanket are the type that thread through a slotted opening in the blanket and then go through a metal clasp.  It's the exact same type of strap that is used for the belly, adjustable and durable.
