The only thing that works on my "Big Fella"

I have a Percheron whose tail was docked, The Big Fella fly sheet has saved him here In Florida

Good product and great fit for my Percheron/Gypsy Vanner X

Really like the fit, cover and adjustability of this fly sheet. My girl was comfortable, not bothered by flies and surprisingly cool in this NC heat and humidity. My only disappointment was it does not come w/belly band. She gets sweet itch on her belly and I would have preferred it be covered. That said, she has not developed sweet itch yet.

    Amazing product

    5

These fly sheets are amazing. Awesome fit, and you can just tell they're quality made. I own almost every Big Fella blankets sold (the cooler, winter turnouts, flysheets, rain sheet, etc). I have big warm bloods and 2 full Percherons (one taller hitch style, and one stockier farm build). These blankets fit both. The quality holds up to Rambo's that my warmbloods wear....for just a fraction of the cost.

    FINALLY! Fly sheets for drafts!

    5

Finally a fly sheet for my guys (and girls!!)! I have Percherons and unfortunately the breed standard is to dock their tails. :( These fly sheets are awesome! They help keep my kids comfortable and happy. The sheets are pretty tough as well - so far my naughty Freisian has not been able to tear or rip any of his pasture mates clothing, despite his best and most talented efforts!

    Great fly sheet!

I own a draft horse who is very allergic to bug bites and this fly sheet is the best one I've tried. It fits her well, it's durable and it keeps her mostly bite free. She needs to wear it 24/7 and she's comfortable with no rubs. The only things I wish it had was a belly band and a longer tail flap. These things would make it perfect, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

    Good Coverage, Seems Comfortable

    5

Seems well constructed and stays in place. Works well together with neck cover and mosquito mesh extended fly mask. My Canadian doesn't object to it so it must be comfortable. Start of season so time will tell if it lasts.

    Not a winner for me

I think the extra layer in the shoulder is what makes it so hot. My other that has lining is only by the buckles. I would love to have a much longer tail flap as this one provides little coverage. A belly flap would also be a plus. It is very sturdy. I love the reflective stripes. I love the pretty blue color. The fact it does not fit my draft cross is just because she's hard to fit! It is too tight in the shoulders & to big in the rump. However, it does fit well enough to use as a back up & on cooler days.

You are going to love this fly sheet

I have a 16.2 Warmblood that is large boned. This fly sheet works great. It stays in place and is cut large enough for his shoulders. The normal horse size blankets are too tight in the shoulder. We had some 90 degree weather in PA and he stayed cool. He did get rather wet around the chest with the lining but it never rubed. I would recommend this fly sheet to anyone they has a bulky horse.

I own two Big Fella Dura Mesh fly sheets which work well for my 17 HH Friesian draft cross though he sometimes gets hot in such a heavy duty sheet. I was wondering if the lighter weight fine weave Big Fella Mosquito Mesh sheets are tough enough to protect against large biting horseflies here in Northern Minnesota?

    Liz Up North

I've been super happy with this sheet. It is one of the few fly sheets that is strong enough to keep the bugs away yet the material allows for significant air flow. The only place my big guy sweats in this sheet is in the front part where it's lined with nylon.

    Jennifer W

Yes, this sheet is very cool and does a great job protecting against all type of biting insects.

    Cheri

I bought a Big Fella fly sheet a couple if years ago and it was way to short on the sides even tho it said it was longer for the big guys?! Has this been corrected now? If so about how long is ine side from the middle back seam down to the edge end? Also the tail flap is way to short to really provide protection from biting insects and to deter rubbing of the tail? Thank you for another help with these issues!

    Melody

I have a 17/2 Friesian who weighs about 1800 and these Big Fella blankets and sheets fit her better than anything I've tried, even the more expensive Kensingtons. I have that Mosquito one in 86 and it fits her fine. I only wish they made a cotton day sheet and more insulation choices in their winter ones! She has all the ones they make in Big Fella.

They have changed the entire line. They will tell you they haven't. The sheets and blankets are very skimpy. My big horse used to be an 84, now he's an 88. He hasn't changed. The blankets have. The 88 is a little long, but it has better length.

    jreusz

I have a rather large quarter horse and have trouble finding a fly sheet that doesn't come up to high in the chest he is a wide bodied horse and 16 hands will this big fella be too big?

    charliehorse

Big Fella blankets start at size 84. If your horse gets to that size then this would work. If your horse is under that size we would suggest going with open front V-Free #37092. This will help with giving more room in the chest. If you have anymore questions please contact customer service 800-365-1311. They will help you fit your horse in the best blanket for their body style.

Love the Mosquito Mesh flysheets and neck wrap. They've made all the difference for my horses. My mare has rubbed against a tree, however, and pulled the d-ring attachments off the neck wrap (leaving a hole). Are there any special tricks to repair this? (She rubs on the tree with and without the sheet on...)
