If they added something to the neck to keep it from rubbing

Use it to layer or by itself on a cool day. Pretty much liked everything except rubbing his mane off! Needs sheepskin maybe on the neck.

    Great for turnout!

    5

Works great for pasture turnout in mild California winters. Kept my old guy warm and dry. Could fit slightly better, a little big for my 7/8 Arab.

    BEST TURNOUT BLANKET EVER

    5

My horses wear this blanket 24/7 from the first rains of fall thru spring. Really keeps my quarter horses warm and dry. Best blanket I have found.

    Disappointed with this blanket

    1

I wanted more than a rain sheet - a light blanket for chilly windy days but I got a blanket with 'heavy' fleece inside which makes this a very heavy weighted blanket for my horse to wear and it slips to one side more than other blankets. Buckles are hard to unsnap in cold icy weather. It is also a very big cut 38 blanket. Back too long! It is my 'last resort' blanket to use in the barn. I should have returned this blanket!

Very nice sheet! Well Made. Love it

    4

I use this sheet on chilly nights and for pasture wear during cool rains and wind. It's very nice, a good quality, thicker fabric and softer than my other sheets. Waterproof. Seems very durable. But we do not leave sheets on 24/7 when outside. However we do leave them on either all day outside or all night in the barn. And this sheet is great. All my Schneider sheets are awesome!

Yes it is, very much.  It is a waterproof turnout but lined with fleece.  I love it for my TB and Arabian.

What fill is this blanket? 220grams? Just trying to compare the high neck blankets. Or is this a no fill sheet?

    Christy

Hi, I purchased this blanket about 4 months ago. It's very well made and I'm very happy with it. It breaths very well, my horse does not sweat if the temps warm up. Good question about the fill, it does have a fleece like fill, although a soft liner inside, so there is no fleece on your horse. I would guess between a 100-220 gram weight. It's great for my horse for temps down to the mid 30's. if it's below that, I tend to double blanket, or use a different weight. I highly recommend this blanket. Good luck.

    cscopac

This blanket does not contain a layer of fill like most turnout blankets, but it isn't a sheet either. Instead of having a polyester fill layer, it contains a polar fleece layer between its liner and waterproof outer shell. In terms of comparison, this blanket provides the same amount of warmth as a lightweight, polyester fill turnout blanket.

    lenabrown.11

It has a layer of fleece between the lining and outer shell, so warmer than a no fill sheet, but still pretty light weight!

    natalie.t.garcia

I switch my horses from this blanket to a 220 when it is low teens, and or high winds. It is wind and water proof providing a lot of protection from the weather. It has a great fit and great coverage.  I would say it is equal to a 100 - 150 weight.  My horses have some natural winter coat.  I love this blanket It fits my 16+ hands Thoroughbred and my 15 hand Arabian , no rubs or shifting.

    sgfhighbridge

This is a light weight sheet. It is between the sheet and midweight blanket. There is a polar fleece insulation.

    Customer Service

Hi Christy, I purchased the mid weight for our little Q Horse Mare and it is an awesome blanket. I have another high neck blanket, another brand, and prefer this blanket from Schneiders. Good Luck!

    jcwilson706

I consider it a be just a sheet. It is lined with fleece to make it heavier than the average sheet but still lighter than a medium weight blanket.

    piper.rose05

Hi Christy, I can't tell you the number associated with the fill, but I can say that I also ordered the mid weight blankets to use in colder weather, and they are, as expected noticeably heavier than the lightweights. The lightweights are blankets, they are not sheets, they do have light fill. I live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, coastal and fairly moderate most of the time, so the lightweights are very useful for me. I have only used the mid weights once, I believe, when the nighttime temperatures went down into the mid to lower twenties with wind. I take the lightweights off when the temperature is around 50, and they feel very warm under the blanket. They do breathe well, I haven't had any sweaty horses, but I'm pretty vigilant about getting them off if it warms up into the day. ( Blankets can be a bit of a pain!) I also take them off if bring horses in if it rains much at all. I've never seen a blanket that is truly waterproof... Overall, I would say the lightweight is very useful in fairly moderate climates like mine. Also, they fit well, and I like the cut of the neck, doesn't bind their withers at all like the old style blankets did. (The lightweights wash and dry really well in my fairly large capacity regular home washer and dryer, which is nice, just fasten all the surcingles and snaps and take off the hind leg straps.) Hope this helps, write back if you need to know more, Your friend in horses, lol, Christy Berkeley Sent from my iPad

Hi, I would say it's equivalent to a 100G (lightweight) - enough to take the chill off. Good for those raw or rainy days when a sheet just doesn't seem like enough. -----------------------------------------From: "Schneider Saddlery"

    russ2jen

I'm not sure what the fill is anymore but I would say it's a good midweight blanket. Angela Wilson Mt. Norway Farm

Closer to a lightweight 100g. It's not lined in the traditional way but does have insulation On Monday, December 26, 2016, Schneider Saddlery <

This has a layer of fleece between the liner and waterproof outer layer. It does not have polyester batting. It kept my horse in a light coat when I used it at 40-50 degrees with wind and rain outdoors.

    jodi.g.gearon

There is a layer of fleece under the sheet. So thicker than a rain sheet but not at thick as 220 grams. I find it the perfect weight for those in cold, wet fall/spring rains. Sent from my iPhone

Which Teckno fleece blankets are best for a moderately stocky AQH with good shoulder slope and deep heart girth?

    RealSuseQ

We would suggest 15002 or 15003. These are made to fit AQHA horses. If you want more info we would suggest contacting customer service over the phone. They can talk you through all the fits and you can explain your horse body type as well. Customer Service 800-365-1311

Would this sheet be a smart buy for a muscular short-backed quarter horse with a significant but not prominent wither? Cut-back blankets ride behind her wither and have caused significant mane and wither rubs. Her other blankets are your Euro-fit and work well.

    Suse

We would suggest Fitted V-Free line. http://www.sstack.com/horse-blankets-and-sheets_waterproof-turnout-blankets_fitted-v-free/

    Customer Service

How does this style compare to the Vteck pressure free style? I want a sheet that won't put pressure on the withers when my horse eats or otherwise puts her head down. There is no picture of the horse with it's head down

    sugar

Completely different fit than a Vtek - the high neck is not built with any kind of pressure relieve over the withers like the Vteks. The High neck is just a straight cut fit that has a neck that is shaped to come up half way up the neck for added rain protection really. The VTek has the extended V-Free pressure free wither that is shaped around the wither to take the pressure off. The Vtek comletely covers the shoulder offering a very nice fit in front. It has a contoured back and hips to shape more the the horses body. We would suggest going with a Vtek.
