Comments about Dura-Tech® Double Lock Bell Boots with Fleece Lining:

I really love these bell boots! They have a really great height and width combination that fits my horse perfect. Also, they are well-priced and thus far appear to be very durable. I believe that these will work well on any horse that has a normal hoof height, including medium or low heels because they aren't excessively tall (which a lot of other bell boots are practically 5 inches or more in height and thus way to tall for the average horse). Alternatively, If your horse happens to have a super tall foot (high heel, club foot), then these might not be as ideal for that type of horse.

You can't beat the quality for the price. These have double closure with really strong Velcro. Super easy to clean too. I just rinse off the fleece along with the boot with the hose and they come out good to go again.

Comments about Dura-Tech® Double Lock Bell Boots with Fleece Lining:

My horses have 24/7 access to their pasture (as long as it's not a complete mud pit) so I keep bell boots on them at all times to help keep their shoes on. I haven't had any issues with these rubbing, and they are now the only ones I buy. Since they have them on 24/7 I usually have to replace at least one every 2 months, so I usually just buy a couple pairs every time I'm buying something else so I have some on hand. I get a medium for my smaller 15' quarter horse paint mix, and large for my 16'2 Thoroughbred.

              • Q:

How true is the sizing chart? I have an OTTB and so hoof is long and low. I'm finding 'Large' seems to be too big with most bell boots, despite her being 16.1hh.

I have a 16.1 warmblood, and the mediums are a bit small for her. They
fit, but just barely, but at least not bouncing up and down on the ground
with every step. (in case that helps)

The large size fits my 15.1 hh OTTB just fine... he has one long, low foot
and one that is more round and upright (a nightmare for the farrier!)

These aren't too long as bell boots go.  The problem with these is they tear from the bottom easily.  I need to keep bell boots on my horse at all times, and he had one of them torn within a week.
The kind with the simple velcro closures have tougher rubber, but the closures rip easily on those, and the kind with the more durable closures (these) tend to have weaker rubber!  Won't somebody make durable bell boots with sturdy rubber AND closures?

I have a draft cross (so very large feet). Has anyone ever used these on a horse with large feet? I ordered XL and now wondering if I should have ordered XXL, or if either will even fit at all.

Great thing is they do have a good return policy but it doesn't hurt to measure and see if they have a chart. Worst thing is try a boot and return.

There is a size chart to compare the sizing on boots you have now or to measure the horse.

I have a horse with size 1 shoe and a 5 in drop and he wears the XL, the XXL might work better for your horse

I order these all the time because they are reasonably priced and the largest size I can find.  I probably go through 3-5 pairs a year.  I always order the XXL for my 17+ hh Anglo-Arab. He is a big guy but does not have draft size feet. And he is barefoot.  They are about as good a quality as most of the synthetic fleece bell boots out there and the only brand that I have found that sells XXL.  The rubber is soft, but not the most resilient.  He regularly takes a chunk out of the rubber. The fleece and the Velcro last longer than the rubber. My two cents, try a pair of the XXL and see what you think.  Sometimes you just don't know until you try.

These run small. I have a warmblood who has large feet.  I bought her XXL.  She normally wears an XL.
