Q:
Has anyone had any luck using these inside a Cavallo Simple Boot? I need support for my horse without using nails or adhesive on his hoof. I am thinking of using vet wrap and securing these to his hoof and then putting his boots on. He has Acute Laminitis with 20% (degrees?) of rotation and less than a millimeter of sole. Or does anyone have any other ideas that does not involve nails or adhesive? Desperate in Ohio :(

Since every case is different, it is always best to check with your farrier or veterinarian to see what would work best for you. The Impact Gel pads have been very effective for a number of hoof problems. It's always worth a try to vet wrap them in place for extra protection within the boot.

I have used yoga matts cut up in the shape of a hoof with three layers that has helped in a simple boot. I have these but have not tried them yet, ask your farrier though

Look for great limited articles on horse.com website.
I use the gel inserts that cavallo sells inside the boots on trail rides. My horse is shoeless on hind only. You could double them up or buy something from a hardware store that's m ant for another purpose...,, so many articles are made of silicone now.
Best wishes finding comfort for your horse. Linda

I highly recommend the impact Gel hoof trax .They are only good for one trimming cycle.I Think they are breathable and really very happy with them.My walks so comfy in all conditions and they have I believe they have helped his feet immensely. They help prevent or if have draw out abcesses ect. My horse is very comfortable with these on he looks happy like walking on air. Oh they might last longer if your just putting in boots to ride instead of putting on with trim as I do. I hope this helps

A:
They are not breathable. Pads can be reused but how long they last depends on how often you are riding and what the ground conditions are like.

A:
Manufacturer recommends not to cut these yourself and they are designed to be used between the shoe and the sole and applied by a blacksmith.
We recommend 2 products by 'Hoof Wrap' 21723 The Gel Pad which you can cut to fit and the 21724 the Hoof Wrap Hoof Bandage which holds the gel properly in place.

Are these pads meant to be nailed on with a shoe, or can they be used inside a hoof boot? I own a set of the Cavollo Simple Boots, but the Cavallo Gel pads aren't quite thick enough to give my horse any relief.
