It was immediately replaced by Schneiders! I also ordered the same girth for my smaller horse so I guess I like it.

Our choice to make the (tm) Girth Shield

Comments about Joseph Sterling® Pro Series Dressage Girth:

We looked for a long time to find a "blank" short girth to make the Patent Pending Girth Shield over. (We worked at first with long girths and object to many short girths because the hardware is often bulky and placed in a sensitive area).
(Please take note, that the photo show below is our modified version, with the addition of a sleeve and the Shield. The manufacturers pictures show well what they look like at purchase.)
To work for us it had to be a certain shape, good enough quality, reasonably priced and available in a variety of sizes. We tried lots of girths. This one is very good. We also like the Prestige, but at double the price it is hard to choose it.

Why do we like this girth? The Sterling girth has limited flare around the buckles, which can be a problem if one has a V system billet, but is an advantage with a straight system--less area to bruise the girth box. It is modestly shaped under the pectorals, narrow enough at the elbow, and the leather is soft and good--if not excellent--which we would not expect at this price point. There are many things to like about it, and it just gets better with the Girth Shield. We have sold many of them and value Schneiders as our supplier of this and other girths.

Soft leather, not bulky, fits my large mare perfectly as if it was custom made. Over all a wonderful product.
