StableHand is the handiest tool you will ever own!

Who knew filling a hay bag could be so neat and easy after all? Roll the hay bag helper up insert it into the hay bag and let it expand. Holds any cloth hay bag or small holed hay net open and makes it free standing. Toss your hay in take the insert out and away you go. This can also be used in trash bags to fill shavings, grain, laundry, recyclables or trash. If the StableHand ever loses its ability to fully spring open, reverse roll once or twice.

Rolling this mat up tightly enough so it fits inside an empty hay bag is a bit of a challenge for me. My technique is to roll it up and hold it tightly between my knees as I try to pull the bag down over the end of the mat. Be sure you have the correct end (with the handle holes) facing the bag. Once I release and let the mat open up, it's quite easy to fill the bag with hay. Total time elapsed using the mat is about the same for me as it is without the mat, but it definitely makes the filling process easier. Instead if struggling with the hay bag, now I'm struggling with the mat. Maybe over time I will be able to improve on that with practice.

    Hay Net Filling Dream

Filling hay nets for our 3 horses has always been a bit of a chore, but not any more! The plastic sheet rolls up easily but has enough strength to spring back open and hold the hay net wide open once inside. Hay slides right in on the slick surface of the sheet, which when full, pulls right out. I wish we had bought them sooner!

I would definitely buy this product again

I was using a taller, wider version of this (bought years ago for bagging leaves) but decided to try this smaller version. Why did I wait so long?!? It's much easier to use and I can fill the hay bags much quicker - in part because I don't have to break up the flakes. It's a little stiffer than the leaf bag version and part of me hopes that it softens up a little over time. Part of me wishes I'd bought 2 - it would be nice to have one at the house as well.

How does the guarantee work? I purchased two of these a couple of years ago and both have broken around the handles and cracked vertically.

Have only had mine a month, use it on and off.  So far, no problems but have wondered how long it will last.  Biggest problem for me,  is keeping it rolled as I try to insert it into the 2x2 slow feed hay nets.  It can be difficult due to the slickness and springiness!!!  Not much help I know since I've not owned it long enough, but not surprised that it has become brittle and is breaking up..........that kind of material will do that in other products too.
