Designed specifically with senior horses in mind, the ARMORFlex® Challenger II VTEK® Senior Horse Turnout Blankets offer a unique blend of comfort, durability, and protection. Its waterproof and breathable 1200D ripstop polyester outer shell is tailored to accommodate the changing needs of your senior horse, providing enhanced coverage over the shoulder and wither areas where muscle loss often occurs. This blanket features improved waterproofing and breathability ratings with exceptional breathability, ensuring your horse stays dry and comfortable all season. In addition, Memory Foam has been added to the wither area, shoulder line, and hip panels. The memory foam is an additional layer of protection from rubs and sores as your older horse may lay down more.

Our VTEK® Wither Relief fit prevents rubbing and relieves pressure on moderate to high withers. The upright shoulder and shape over the withers are designed to fit breeds with similar conformations as Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, Appendix horses, or those with upright shoulder conformation. It includes an extended drop to cover a deeper heart girth, and they are shaped with darts at the hips to give a more contoured fit around the rump. Extends 6 to 8 inches onto the mane with fleece placed where the mane meets the sheet, further preventing rubbing. Memory Foam has been strategically incorporated into the wither, shoulder line, and hip panels, targeting areas where Senior horses commonly experience muscle loss and prominent bone structure. This additional layer of protection helps prevent rubs and sores, especially as older horses tend to lie down more frequently.

All of our ARMORFlex® Challenger II Senior Horse Blankets are extremely waterproof due to being seam-sealed and 3M Teflon coated, which adds longevity to the waterproofing, enhances durability, and provides stain resistance. These blankets feature top-tier technology in fabric treatment, offering full protection against galloping downpours while remaining breathable. Any water will simply bead up and roll off the material, maintaining your horse’s warmth and comfort in practically any weather.

The open front option features double front snaps with a new wider hook and loop closures that assist in keeping the open front from separating for a more secure fit. It allows for easy adjustment for the perfect amount of “snugness” at the front of the chest to alleviate gaps. Plus, the snaps make it easy to put on and remove.

Our reinforced gussets extend higher and more forward, allowing greater freedom of motion for the shoulder, and preventing rubbing on the shoulders. This innovative design offers additional freedom and comfort for your horse.

The criss-cross surcingle closure option adjusts to the center to keep the blanket from sliding from side to side. The t-post hardware features locking bands and detachable elastic leg straps for increased security.

The larger tail cover provides additional protection from wind and harsh weather, such as rain or snow, to keep your horse as warm as possible.

This blanket features 3M reflective gusset patches and tail stripe for safety. Light from the moon or cars reflects off the binding, providing high visibility, making it easy to see your horse during dusk or night turnout.

Set the blanket at the optimum snugness with the included detachable, elastic leg straps that help keep it in place. They adjust from 20" to 38" and stretch as the horse moves with double brass-plated snaps for easy on and off.
