Bulky but high quality
"The pros: the rings are super easy to thread any sized rein/rope through on the fly, and having so many different positions is extremely helpful. High quality material, very durable and easy to clean. No nutcracker risk on the withers; the padding appears to be comfortable for my girl. The cons: The cordura-style nylon girth material is way too thick and stiff, plus the holes are spread too far apart for easy tightening. I'm just beginning with long lining so total amateur here, but this product is heavy and clunky and I find myself reluctant to put it on. It takes up a lot more space in the trailer than I would prefer (it hangs on my bridle rack). Also I have a Fell pony who measures 950-1000 lb by weight tape at the her girth but even so I am close to the last hole on each side and it doesn't really fit since she's between holes. In retrospect, I should have bought a much lighter weight, 2-girth strap surcingle."
Excellent Quality
"I searched high and low for a surcingle of this quality - I wanted a single girth with buckle guard, large rings, easy to clean, was of good, durable quality, and most importantly, was designed with the comfort of the horse in-mind. This one ticks all the boxes. It is so comfortable that my rising three year old barely noticed it was there, and this was his first time wearing a proper girth! Very pleased with my purchase, and with the rapid delivery."
Almost perfect
"I'm pleased with this surcingle. The only reason I'm not awarding five stars is because there's no stretch to the band/ strap. This can make it challenging to get the perfect fit. It will be sufficient for what I'm using it for though. Plenty of sturdy rings, well positioned all around for anything you might need."
Too hard to tighten
"I purchased this for the number of ring options and the low maintenance material. Unfortunately, the roller on the buckle does not help much in tightening the surcingle - it seems the grommets around the holes work against getting a secure fit. It might help if the holes were closer together. In the end, I would rather have paid more for a leather one that functions correctly."
