"It’s a nice looking piece and would be just fine for the average rider on a broke, already trained horse. During training of a young horse however. . The leather headstall pieces that attach to the bosal do not fit very well. I would have to dismount quite regularly to adjust the headstall back into position during flexing exercises. This headstall obviously is not equipped with a throat latch which again, would not be a problem on a broke horse. On a green broke horse however… The very first time a horse bucked in this headstall, it managed to come off over his head and under the neck, leaving me with no control. Ultimately causing a horrible wreck that lead to the headstall breaking into 3 pieces, never to be used again. Overall, it’s good for the price and to be fair, I shouldn’t have bought this piece to break young horses in anyway."
