Schneiders® Ported Barrel Kimberwick

Overview

Schneiders® Ported Barrel Kimberwick
The Ported Barrel Kimberwick offers a comfort zone when the horse is relaxed and flexed at the poll. This bit functions as both a direct action and leverage bit using a curb strap or chain. If the rein is attached to the top hook, it works as a direct action bit, exerting the same amount of pressure on the mouth as on the reins. If the rein is attached to the bottom hook, it works like a leverage bit, tilting the mouthpiece forward and applying pressure to parts of the mouth, curb and poll.
  • Outstanding choice for horses that know the basics and moving to the next level
  • Works mainly off the bars of the mouth and allows horses to swallow
  • Reins slots offer separate leverage options to achieve desired results
  • Top slot offers direct action and lower puts pressure on the mouth, curb and poll
  • Stainless steel mouthpiece and cheeks with wide barrel port
  • Curb hooks and chain are included
  • Port height: 1”
  • Mouth: 5”
  • Bit diameter: 10mm

Love this bit! Just as

"Love this bit! Just as good as Myler for a fraction of the price!"

Got 2 because I liked it so much

"The only complaint I have is the hook will sometimes dog into my horses face. But other than that it's great and I liked it so much I got 2. One for my horse, one for my daughter's horse. Helps my green horse set his head properly and helps my daughter's Arabian set his head too"

Would buy from Schneider's again

"Received and a great prodict"

This is a great Kimberwick.

"Great option for my hunt horse. Needed to get smaller outward facing curb chain hooks so they didn't rub the edges of his lips."

Nice quality

"Hard to find mouthpiece in a kimberwick under $150. Great quality at a reasonable price!"

Excellent bit! My horse responds very well!

"I use the bit for a forward hunt horse, who use to throw her head, shake her head!! This has quieted her down, and she comfortable!"

Michelle (5/5)

Great value for the price point!

"I purchased this bit for my foxhunter and have been very pleased with the quality for the money. I wanted an affordable bit that would also be comfortable for my horse and this is it. You will not be sorry you bought this bit. The value for the price point is great!"

"I love the concept of the bit but one side doesn't move as well as the other side. I am not sure if it matters when in the horses mouth but just the fact that it doesn't swivel the same keeps me from giving it a 5 star rating. My horse likes it and I don't think it needs to swivel much from the port to be effective but I have other similar bits and they do move better. It isn't enough of a problem to return it but just be aware and check yours if you order one."

Love it !

"My green broke horse was rooting at her Expensive curved comfort snaffle and the joint was sitting between the roof of her mouth & tongue - She was beginning to resist being bitted up. I switched to this bit - no rooting, no banging and she responds well to it. Great step up to a western shanked leverage bit. The hinge on one side stuck & I will have to oil it to get smoother movement. Would like to find the same shaped bit with copper inlay & better quality side hinges. (The Expensive step 2 I ordered didn't fit as well as this bit )"
