TIPS ON FITTING THE IRH HELMET
HOW TO MAKE 4 SIZES OUT OF 1 HELMET SHELL
(XLT, IR4G, and F1)
Every helmet comes with 2 liners.
Shell Sizing
SMALL (with 2 liners) and MEDIUM (with 2 different, thinner liners) share the same SMALL/MEDIUM shell.
LARGE (with 2 liners) and X-LARGE (with 2 different thinner liners) share the same LARGE/X-LARGE shell.
4 different liners make 4 different sizes in each shell.
Size Adjustments
SIZE SMALL
- 8 mm liner is in the helmet equaling a size 6 ⅝
- 5 mm liner is in the box equaling a size 6 ¾
- Replacing the 8 mm liner with the 5 mm liner makes the helmet 1 size larger (from 6 ⅝ to 6 ¾)
SIZE MEDIUM
- 3 mm liner is in the helmet equaling a size 6 ⅞
- 2 mm liner is in the box equaling a size 7
- Replacing the 3 mm liner with the 2 mm liner makes the helmet 1 size larger (from 6 ⅞ to 7)
SIZE LARGE
- 8 mm liner is in the helmet equaling a size 7 ⅛
- 5 mm liner is in the box equaling a size 7 ¼
- Replacing the 8 mm liner with the 5 mm liner makes the helmet 1 size larger (from 7 ⅛ to 7 ¼)
SIZE X-LARGE
- 3 mm liner is in the helmet equaling a size 7 ⅜
- 2 mm liner is in the box equaling a size 7 ½
- Replacing the 3 mm liner with the 2 mm liner makes the helmet 1 size larger (from 7 ⅜ to 7 ½)
WHY WOULD YOU WANT 2 DIFFERENT SIZE LINERS?
If you ride daily with your hair in a ponytail but need to tuck it inside your helmet for competition, having two different size liners can help you achieve the best fit for both situations. In disciplines like "The Hunters," it's traditional to wear your hair up in the helmet with a hairnet during competitions.
The thickness of the second (thinner) liner you choose will depend on the length and thickness of your hair.
To ensure the best fit, we recommend trying on your helmet first with your hair styled as you wear it most often. Then, if needed, switch to a different liner when changing hairstyles for competition or other riding occasions.
