The durable 1000D heavy polyvinyl-coated mesh withstands the rigors of turnout, perfect for those horses that play rough in the pasture, and it shields your horse from sun damage with 70% UV protection. With this durable sheet, your horse will be protected from medium to large-sized insects, such as deer flies, greenheads, and horse flies. It’s available in multiple fits with features that prevent rubbing, offer unbeatable protection, and include a 3-year warranty. Don’t forget to complete the look with the matching neck cover and boots.
When choosing a fly sheet for your horse, the key considerations should include fabric breathability and durability and the insect and UV protection needed depending on turnout needs. This fly sheet is the perfect durable option if you have a horse that plays hard in the pasture. The VTEK® Wither Relief option makes this fly sheet perfect for moderate to high-withered horses. Other features include a bellyband closure, a customizable neck opening, leg straps, and reflective stripes for safety.
Our VTEK ® Wither Relief fly sheets are designed to prevent rubbing and relieve pressure on moderate to high withers. The upright shoulder and shape over the withers are designed to fit Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, Appendix horses, or those with upright shoulder conformation. It includes an extended drop to cover a deeper heartgirth and they are shaped with darts at the hips to give a more contoured fit around the rump. Extends 6 to 8 inches onto the mane with fleece placed where the mane meets the sheet, further preventing rubbing.
The open front design features double front snaps with new and improved wider hook and loop closures, allowing you to easily adjust the fly sheet for the perfect amount of “snugness” at the front of the chest. Plus, the snaps make it easy to put on and remove.
The bellyband closure protects from flies and midges biting along the sensitive underbelly line. Brass-plated hardware is positioned to avoid rubbing or poking while your horse is lying down, and the rear surcingle includes a stretch panel for more give as the horse moves since the proper fit is with the bellyband snug and flush to the belly.
The most accurate and easiest way to determine your horse’s blanket size is to measure along the side of their body, from chest to tail. First, stand the horse square on a flat surface. Measure from the center of the chest, straight back to the very edge of the tail. Make sure to measure along the widest part of their shoulder and hindquarters. The number of inches measured in this way is your horse’s size. Look on the size chart for any Schneiders blanket for this number of inches to order your horse’s perfect size.

"This was the first time I decided to spend more than the bare minimum on a fly sheet and it made all the difference in the world! The contours fit my horse well, the hardware is nice, and the velcro actually sticks! I decided to buy a second one. I also enjoyed how easy it is to rinse and it dries fast! I've been recommending them to friends. I'll never go back to the cheapies again!"
"Thus sheet with bellyband is perfect for spring and fall when the bugs are bad. It is a bit warm for the hottest summer months. But I use a lighter sheet then anyway"
"I bought this flysheet last year for my TB gelding. Summer temperatures where he is boarded (southern Santa Clara County, California) can range from 55 at night to into the low 100s during the hottest part of the day, and I found he sweat an awful lot when wearing it, so it sits in my trunk, unused. Bummer, because I did research and it sounded like a really great option."
"This is the most durable fly sheet I have found and definitely keeps the flies off. However my horse was able to rip it in multiple places."
"This is a very nice fly sheet - it is very well made and substantial, it looks like it will be durable over the long haul. It is heavier than some that I have had (which makes it more durable) but so far does not seem to be overly warm (despite unusually warm spring weather). I will have to report back later whether it is cool enough for summer. But overall, I really like the coverage it provides and the fit on my solidly-build half-bred Connemara. Plus, it is very good looking!"
"I love this blanket. It is heavy duty & is extremely durable! Multiple adjustment options help to fit my mare perfectly. I am certain it will last much longer than cheaper products I have purchased in the past. This blanket is worth every penny! I would recommend 100%"
"Great sheet! Very durable, I had the dura mesh 1 version and it lasted me 3 years! Last version slipped to one side often but it seems that issue is fixed with this one!"
"I love the belly band, and the color is aweome!"
"This sheet is awesome! It is very durable and holds up well!! It’s just so heavy to carry around and it’s so durable it does hold a bit of heat in. But great fly sheet!"
"This seems to be of great durability but it holds far too much heat. I had it on my horse for 30 minutes and he has a large amount of sweat even with a nice breeze!"
