Finding the Perfect Specialty Size Horse Blanket

Finding blankets for draft horses, ponies, miniature horses, and foals can be a challenge. Not only are these kinds of horses much bigger or smaller than the average horse, but they are also shaped differently than other horses. Simply making a blanket bigger or smaller will not automatically make it a specialty-sized horse blanket. For example, draft horses are relatively wider than other horses and draft horse blankets must accommodate this to fit properly. Here is some more information about each category of specialty horse blanket to help you find the perfect option for your specialty-size horse.

Draft Horse Blankets
The biggest challenge in finding a draft horse blanket is the width. When shopping for a specialty-size horse blanket for draft horses always look for adjustability. If there are straps that are customizable it will increase the likelihood that the blanket will fit your horse.

Pony Blankets and Miniature Horse Blankets
Finding a specialty-size horse sheet or blanket for your pony or miniature horse is also a difficult task. They are designed to be narrower and smaller than other kinds of blankets. An important consideration for stealthy ponies is durability.
