Schneiders® Hunt Club Plaid II Open Front Surcingle 280g Medium Weight Stable Blanket

This 280g medium weight stable blanket is ideal for temperatures between 30°F and 50°F. It provides cozy warmth for cool to cold weather without being too heavy, making it perfect for fall and spring barn use or as a liner under heavier blankets during bitter winters.

The Hunt Club Plaid II features a contoured fit that customers consistently praise for its accuracy and comfort. One reviewer noted that their OTTB, which wears an 81 in another brand's high neck turnout, fits perfectly in a 78 of this blanket, so you may find it runs a size larger than some competitors.

Yes, many customers use this blanket as a liner under heavier blankets for extra warmth during the coldest months. One reviewer specifically mentioned using it as a liner under her mare's heavy blanket when temperatures drop, and it works great for that purpose while keeping the outer blanket clean.

The blanket features a double woven poly cotton outer shell with a smooth nylon lining and 280g insulation. This combination keeps your horse cozy while the nylon lining prevents shavings from sticking to your horse's coat and maintains cleanliness in the barn.

Yes, the blanket is designed to stay centered and secure with criss-cross surcingles and an open front with double buckles for adjustability. It also includes detachable elastic leg straps for additional stable coverage, ensuring it won't shift during daily barn activity. Like all stable blankets, it's made for the stall and isn't safe for turnout.

Absolutely—customers consistently report this blanket is very durable and well-made, with one owner noting it's their third blanket for the same horse and it continues to do an excellent job. The double woven poly cotton construction and quality stitching make it built to last through many seasons.

The fleece wither patch is a comfort feature designed to prevent rubs and irritation in the sensitive wither area where the blanket sits. This thoughtful addition helps protect your horse's skin during extended wear in the barn.

While the classic hunt club plaid is primarily a beautiful design choice that adds timeless equestrian elegance, customers love it because it stands out from typical solid-colored blankets. The aesthetic appeal combined with the practical fit and durability makes this blanket both stylish and functional for everyday stable use.
