600 Denier Shell with Airmesh Panels
A summer sheet has to do two things at once: keep the rain off, and let heat out. This one is waterproof across the front, back and sides, where the rain actually lands, and carries Airmesh panels at the shoulders and hips so heat and moisture escape instead of building up underneath. The 600 denier ripstop outer stands up to everyday turnout. It is rated Level 1, Low Play, suited to horses who are easy on their turnout gear.

Crisscross Surcingles, Leg Straps and Gussets
Crisscross surcingles pass under the belly for greater stability. Detachable elastic leg straps keep the blanket from turning, and come off for cleaning or replacement. The extended gussets let your horse move freely.

Measure chest to tail, along the side of the body across the widest part of the shoulder and hindquarters. If you land between sizes, size up — a snug fit causes pinching and rubs. Great Summer Sheet So Far

"I got this sheet for a couple horses in the barn after seeing one of my boarders with it. We keep our horses' coats short, so this is great for the summer when you might get an occasional chilly night or light rain in the morning. They go outside early morning every day, so we like to put sheets on them when it rains. With this sheet you don't have to feel guilty putting it on when its still warm out. It also works well for one of my training horses who is very sensitive to bugs and generally needs to wear some sort of covering. This keeps her coat sleek and things from touching her skin, without her getting overheated in mild weather. They look really nice too - we have both colors in the barn and they both look classy. The only thing is that I have not used it yet in significant rain - I would not be surpised if it is not perfectly waterproof in heavy rain due to the thinner fabric, only one layer and the mesh cut outs. But I don't think that is a big issue as all the horses have turnout blankets for this purpose, and when its warm and we would be using this sheet, the rain is likely going to be light."
