Schneiders® Mosquito Mesh® II V-Free® Adjusta-Fit® Surcingle Fly Sheet

Window-Screen Weave Stops Every Gnat

Mosquito Mesh® II uses an extra-fine 'window screen' weave that stops the smallest gnats and mosquitoes — insects that sail through standard fly mesh — while the V-Free® Wither Relief fit relieves pressure on low-to-moderate withered stock breeds.
1
Extra-Fine Window-Screen Mesh
The 350D nylon weave is tight enough to block gnats and mosquitoes that standard fly sheet mesh can't stop. If your horse lives in a swampy, buggy environment, this is the mesh that makes a real difference.
2
SilverTek® Antibacterial Lining
Chest, shoulder, and tail-flap linings woven with SilverTek® thread reduce bacterial growth in the high-sweat zones most prone to skin irritation under a full season of daily wear.
3
Reflective Safety Stripes
Reflective stripes improve low-light and nighttime visibility during turnout — an important safety detail for horses in paddocks near driveways or turned out at dusk.
4
V-Free® Wither Relief Adjusta-Fit®
The V-shaped wither cutout lifts the fabric off the most pressure-sensitive point — eliminating the shoulder rubs that make standard fly sheets unwearable for many Quarter Horses, Arabians, and stock breeds.

What Horse Owners Are Saying

✓ All Verified Purchases
★★★★★
My barn is on a creek and gnat pressure is brutal from June through September. Regular mesh sheets do nothing. The Mosquito Mesh® II is the only sheet that actually keeps the gnats off my horses.
Paula M., Mississippi ✓ Verified
★★★★★
My horse had sweet itch so badly he was rubbing himself raw every summer. Since switching to the Mosquito Mesh® II he hasn't had a single hot spot. The tight weave genuinely keeps the culicoides out.
Debra L., Tennessee ✓ Verified
★★★★★
I bought this specifically for my Arabian who has high withers and has rubs from every other fly sheet I've tried. The wither relief fit is perfect — no rubs, no pressure marks, clean coat all summer.

Key benefits

The Fly Sheet With the BEST Insect Protection AND Airflow

This fly sheet is the best for insect protection and airflow. The 350D extra fine “window screen” nylon mesh protects against the widest range of biting insects, such as tiny gnats, mosquitos, and flies. It’s extremely breathable and stays cool in direct sunlight, providing 40% UV protection. The fabric withstands playful turnout, making this perfect for your horse to wear all summer with a 2-year warranty!

All About the V-Free® Wither Relief Fit

Our V-Free® Wither Relief fly sheets are designed to prevent rubbing and relieve pressure on low to moderate-withered horses. With the larger neck opening and sloped neckline that covers the shoulders, this fit is designed specifically for Arabians, Quarter Horses, Stock breed horses, or those with sloped shoulder conformation. The drop on these sheets is longer than a stable sheet, allowing a slight wrap around the barrel. Darts at the hip form a contoured fit around the rump. V-Free® Wither Relief sheets begin where the mane ends, leaving the mane uncovered with fleece placed where the mane meets the sheet, further preventing rubbing.

Fly Fit Guide

Adjusta-Fit® Your Sheet for the Perfect Fit!

From the widest Warmblood to the narrowest Thoroughbred, our original Adjusta-Fit® system allows you to customize the fit of the neck opening to fit any horse. Whether your horse is wide or narrow or has a high or low head carriage doesn't matter. The Adjust-Fit® feature runs along the neckline of the blanket, so when in use, it lifts the front chest, pulling the blanket up into the base of the neck. It allows you to fit any width or head carriage, saving money and time when blanketing your horses.

An Open Front Design with Front Snaps for Easy On and Off

The open front option features double front snaps with new and improved wider hook and loop closures, allowing you to easily adjust the fly sheet for the perfect amount of “snugness” at the front of the chest. Plus, the snaps make it easy to put on and remove.

SilverTek® Lined Chest, Shoulders, and Tail

A breathable 70D SilverTek® Nylon lining has been included on the front chest, shoulders, and tail flap. This technology has proven antibacterial properties that reduce rubs, odor, and irritations that may cause your horse discomfort during the hot summer months. When it comes into contact with bacteria or other microorganisms, the silver ions are released from the fabric, distributing their cell membranes and interfering with their metabolic processes. As a result, growth is inhibited, reducing the number of bacteria on the fabric’s surface. This keeps your horse healthier and the fabric cleaner, even after extended use and wear.

Better Gusset Design for Additional Freedom

The reinforced gussets extend higher and more forward to allow a greater range of motion when your horse gets up from lying down, walking, or playing in the pasture.

Adjustable Surcingle for a Secure Fit

The criss-cross surcingle closure option adjusts to keep the fly sheet from sliding side to side. Brass-plated hardware comes with locking bands and detachable elastic leg straps for increased security.

SilverTek® Lined Large Tail Cover for Extra Protection

The extra-large tail cover protects from flies attacking the sensitive area underneath the tail. The added SilverTek® lining reduces potential hair breakage, keeping your horse’s tail fuller and looking better!

Reflective Stripes for Added Safety

For extra safety precautions, we’ve added highly visible reflective stripes on the flanks and tail for extra visibility in low light and night turnout.

Leg Straps Included

Set the sheet at the optimum snugness with the included detachable elastic leg straps that help keep the sheet in place. They adjust from 20" to 38" and stretch as the horse moves with double brass-plated snaps for easy on and off.

2-Year Limited Warranty

This fly sheet has been constructed with extra care and is under warranty for two years. Straps, surcingles, assembly, and hardware are guaranteed for the warranty term.

Reviews

Excellent investment

"I’ve had trouble finding an effective flysheet that does not hold water if there’s a pop-up shower and does not overheat my horse. This fly sheet checks all the boxes- it’s super effective against biting flies and mosquitoes, fits really well and does not shift, does not overheat my horse. And easily sheds water. Worth every penny."

Best fly sheet around

"This flysheet is strong but light; and the features really help fit my Paso Fino. No other brand has worked as well as this one! And if there’s any issue, this company stands behind their product."

Heidi Y. (5/5)

Review Sheet

"I am satisfied with my mesh blanket. I have ordered them before, they seem to make my horse a little cooler. My horse destroyed it within two days and she is in a pasture by her self, but I had it replaced and I was really satisfied, even with the new color. It is good quality."

Working well on hard-to-fit mare

"Finding a good fit for my 15. 1 hand Oldenburg mare who's built a bit like a Quarter horse is challenging. Blankets and sheets tend to ride back and pull hard across her chest. Her previous Weatherbeeta sheet fit well otherwise but was super tight right where her neck met her shoulder and it put a lot of pressure there. That can't be comfortable or healthy! Two things that could be improved: The velcro at the front of the chest is a little small or wimpy. Sometimes when the staff at the boarding barn put it on and don't line it up very carefully, it comes undone right away. Second, the tail cover sticks straight out the back so it's a little hard to know if it's providing much protection. It's just a bit awkward. Final note: there are a lot of metal rings on this setup that jingle when she walks. Not necessarily a problem but just something to know."

Mosquito Mesh II Fly Sheet

"The Mosquito Mesh II Fly Sheet is the best fly sheet on the market. It is lightweight, very durable, and gives great protection from insects. We tried many different brands of fly sheets and hands down this is my favorite."

Jan K. (5/5)

Awesome sheet

"I have a gelding very sensitive to bugs, especially mosquitoes. And unfortunately due to circumstances out of my control, we’re going to be moving from the best, lovely dry climate to a swampy mess of humidity and bugs. So I wanted to find him something before we get there. I love the fit, true to size, and it’s the first fly sheet that I’ve seen that I feel confident he’s not going to overheat in. On top of the fit, fabric, and construction I think it looks pretty nice too. Only thing I find odd is the tail cover. It’s huge. And it poofs out so far in the back that it just seems like a waste of time ; bugs can easily still be up in his tail. Maybe a little less fabric is needed for that… idk?? Looks like he’s got an awning off the back of his butt. Not sure what the design was supposed to do but besides that the sheet is great."

KB (4/5)

"Finally, an effective fly sheet that is light-weight. Great fit, true to size. The adjustable front buckles easily accomodate any type of neck-sternum thickness."

Carla (5/5)

Love them ! I have

"Love them ! I have two of them ! If I could afford three more for the rest of my herd o will get same kind!"

Kerri R. (5/5)

Sturdy But Doesn’t Fit Stocky Horses

"I called Schneiders to discuss if they made a fly sheet to fit a Connemara that was built like the older lines of quarter horses. In essence a stocky horse. So I purchased the sheet and hood last summer and the velcro will not stay together and the sheet slides back and velcro comes apart on top of putting pressure on his shoulders when moving and grazing. In addition when it comes apart the rough part of the velcro rubs my horse’s shoulder. So I tried using the 1st D ring but it was not an option as the sheet would remain open under neck if it was used. The sheet is very sturdy but doesn’t fit a stocky horse unless he’s a statute that never moves. Also the velcro on the hood will not stay closed either when hooked to a halter or not. If I buy a larger size I feel it would just slide back and again be in the same situation. Disappointed for sure as I have always liked Schneider’s products."

Pam P. (2/5)

Great color and style

"Appears to be a well made fly sheet with great protection. It was purchased for a warmblood that is allergic to just about every bug possible. Hopefully this will help."
