How to Measure a Horse for a Blanket
The most accurate and easiest way to determine your horse’s blanket size is to measure along the side of their body, from chest to tail. First, stand the horse square on a flat surface. Measure from the center of the chest, straight back to the very edge of the tail. Make sure to measure along the widest part of their shoulder and hindquarters. The number of inches measured in this way is your horse’s size. Look on the size chart for any Schneiders blanket for this number of inches to order your horse’s perfect size.

"I purchased two Stormshield turnout waterproof blankets, and they fit both of my horses perfectly. Each horse has access to shelter and pasture, and they spend most of their day outside. The waterproofing has held up really well—even after a few heavy downpours, both horses stayed dry underneath. The material feels sturdy without being overly stiff, which I really like. The blankets run true to size for my horses (both are Quarter Horses), and I haven’t noticed any rubbing at the shoulders. They also stay in place well, even when the horses roll. I love that the front closure straps have clips to make it easier for cold, stiff fingers but also have buckles for adjustment. Schneider's blankets are well made of quality materials. I took a star off because, after using it, I noticed that the tail flap wasn't correctly centered. Retuning it seemed like too much hassle, given that the blanket is otherwise fine."
