Dura Tech Easy Load XX Large 2" Slow Feed Hay Bag

"This product is made with heavy duty webbing and has lasted with no sign of fraying. Easy to fill, and holds 3-4 large flakes of hay which last all night for my horse. I'm glad I went with the XX Large hay bag because because of the volume of hay it holds. Also works great in the trailer for long hauls. Extremely happy with this product. I would buy it again & I also reccomend it to my friends!"

Size of the bag is

"Size of the bag is good. The mesh holes are strong and hold up well. The metal bar at the top however has worked it way out of the top where it could cause injury, Filling the bag is not easy without it. Disappointed in the craftsmanship. It did not last all that long"

Great Hay bag

"This is a durable, easy to fill, perfectly suited to its job, hay bag. I would buy another- oh wait, I already did!"

Elisabeth P. (5/5)

Great quality

"large enough to hold 1/3 bale and still get closed. Can't steal out the top"

Dura Tech Easy Load XXL 2” slow feed hay bag.

"The ability to load hay in your slow feed hay bag, with the ease of knowing your horse has a smorgasbord of food for all night happiness. Excellent foresight with the clips and strap, to allow a variety of options to lengthen or shorten the height. Big grin from myself and my horses!!"

Expensive

"Very expensive. . . expected it to last awhile. . . First night horse chewed strap that u hang it up with and the weight from the hay snapped it in half. . . not worth how overly expensive it is. . ."

Metal strip popped out about 3 “ long!

"We have two XX Large bags, in use for several months & four Large. I like both sizes. Surprise tonite when hanging XX Large bag, loaded for overnite at 13 lbs including 3. 5 bag weight. I was hanging it by strap, as usual, but leaving top open for eating free choice with temps in the teens. Suddenly, a thick metal strip popped out from the side edge of the top, about 3 “ long and 1 “ wide. Couldn’t leave it there for risk of injury so had to dump hay on floor and reload as much as possible in another bag. Obviously can’t use this bag any more! Wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Dont remember when I go the first big bag. Would have to check Schneiders records. I can send photo if needed."

Metal bends on ground every morning

"Bought for a horse on stall rest. The opening has metal in it. Every morning horse has it on the ground. I have the strap on it plus a heavy duty clip on center rings. Walking on it in the stall the metal gets bent pretty bad. Spend 10 mins bending it back so I can fill. Got tired of it and went back to my HayChicks hay bag. Save your money!"

Wendy L. (1/5)

So far so good! My

"So far so good! My destructive little mare paws the haychick nets until they have holes (no shoes), and broke the zipper on the version of this one that goes on the ground within a week. This one has held up so far!! Seems to hold a similar amount to the haychick half bale net, for reference!! Easy to fill, as far as hay bags go!"

Follow up: metal strip pop-out & customer service

"This is to follow up on a review I wrote a couple weeks ago about the metal strip popping out of the XX Large bag I had been using for several months. As I said then and still say, I really like this bag and its smaller version, the "Large" size. I was pleasantly surprised when Schneiders Customer Servcie responded promptly, asked a few questions and requested photos. I did all of that but since the bag was beyond it's warranty period, I didn't expect any compensation - just wanted to let them know that this had happened. It was an unusual thing so I gave some thought to why it had happened. In retrospect, I think it may have been because during the long, very cold nights, and snow we were having, I was hanging it by the strap and leaving the top open (not attaching the velcro flaps) for free choice eating to help them stay warm. The bag was fully loaded, about 13+ lbs, including the 3. 5 lb bag weight & they were eating with head buried inside the bag and probably putting more pressure on the strap and edges than it was meant to hold. The surprise is that Schneiders sent a replacement bag , complementary, for free, even though the warranty period had expired! As I said earlier, I still really like these bags (not that I just love loading 5 bags/day!). They are the easiest to use out of many others I have tried. I plan to continue using both sizes -- XX Large for overnites and "Large" for day bags. And I do appreciate the courtesy and consideration extended by Schneiders Customer Service."
