Schneiders® Ported Barrel D Ring Bit

Overview

Schneiders® Ported Barrel D Ring Bit
An outstanding bit for intermediate level horses to the seasoned, finished horse. This bit is made of stainless steel with a wide low ported barrel and larger D Rings with hooks to offer different leverage options. The barrel puts downward pressure on the tongue and offers relief as soon as the horse bends at the poll. The bit design allows each side of the mouth to work independently. Can be used with a curb chain and curb hooks.
  • Mouth: 5”
  • Rings: 3 ½”
  • Port height: 1”
  • Bar diameter: 10mm
  • Brand: Schneiders®
  • Curb hooks and chain are not included

Very happy, came quickly

"This bit my trainer turned me on to when i moved my horse into her place, he seems to be happy with it and does seem to respect it better than any other bit ive tried on him. When i ordered it said it was backordered and i was nervous about that but it came much more quickly than i anticipated. Very happy"

Backwards bit

"Bit was put together backwards. Unable to use and had to return."

"Nice bit. Worked great for my intermediate rider."

Buying my second one

"I bought this for my Arabian hunt mare. It is more comfortable for her than a jointed snaffle. She was previously shown in a Kimberwicke, but I think this is a better option for us. Now I am buying another one to put on her show bridle."

So far, so good!

"I bought this bit as a cheaper alternative to a Myler bit as I wasn't sure how my mares would go in this type of bit. I wanted something gentle that wouldn't ""nut cracker"" in their mouth like a regular snaffle bit. I also wanted a leverage effect, at least on the poll and this bit has the attachment bars to attach the cheek pieces and the reins in place. I prefer having this option for trail riding when more ""whoa"" might be needed for safety. The bit arrived quickly, is heavy, and seems to be well made. So far, both mares are going nicely in this bit. I have no feedback for improvement as all is well thus far."

Great Bit

"Got this bit to try, as I really wanted a Myler bit but did not want to spend a ton. This bit was the perfect solution! Works great and is almost exactly not the Myler, but still worth it!"
