SilverTek® Lined Chest, Shoulders, and Tail
A breathable 70D SilverTek® Nylon lining has been included on the front chest, shoulders, and tail flap. This technology has proven antibacterial properties that reduce rubs, odor, and irritations that may cause your horse discomfort during the hot summer months. When it comes into contact with bacteria or other microorganisms, the silver ions are released from the fabric, distributing their cell membranes and interfering with their metabolic processes. As a result, growth is inhibited, reducing the number of bacteria on the fabric’s surface. This keeps your horse healthier and the fabric cleaner, even after extended use and wear.

How to Measure a Horse for a Blanket
The most accurate and easiest way to determine your horse’s blanket size is to measure along the side of their body, from chest to tail. First, stand the horse square on a flat surface. Measure from the center of the chest, straight back to the very edge of the tail. Make sure to measure along the widest part of their shoulder and hindquarters. The number of inches measured in this way is your horse’s size. Look on the size chart for any Schneiders blanket for this number of inches to order your horse’s perfect size.

"My mare wears a 72 in everything but this sheet was so long at her tail end that I’m ordering a 68 instead. Extra caution : the sheet looked ok when she tried it on, but then I clipped the little plastic tag hanger that was holding shut the gussets at the shoulders, the fir changed completely! On the plus side, customer service has been great to work with on the exchange."

"The fit is big. My horse usually wears 75-76 but even the 72 is big on him. Will be doing some sewing to make it shorter. Otherwise fabric is nice and washes up nicely ( important when you own a horse who loves to roll!)."

"I kinda went back and forth on this fly sheet for rating. I really wanted to like the high gussets and the high neck, but the fit just wasn’t there. On all my horses the high neck slid back and got stuck behind the withers and the front got tight and started rubbing the chest. I had bought a few of these in different sizes so I tried the different sizes and they all did that on all my horses. So I ended up giving these away. The material and workmanship was really good though."

"I bought this for my very hard-to-fit, high wither TB mare. This fits her pretty well, does have a tendency to slide back a bit, but overall really nice!! The high neck does not put too much pressure on her withers. It does not make her too hot on our warm Colorado summer days. She does sweat a bit under the lined shoulder area. They run a tad large in my opinion. I ordered a size down from my usual."
