Ariat® Kids' Scout Half Chap

Ariat Scout half chaps are designed with kids' proportions in mind, so sizing runs true to youth sizes. We recommend measuring your child's leg and consulting the Ariat size chart before ordering to ensure the best fit, especially since half chaps should sit snugly without bunching or gaps.

These half chaps feature full-grain leather for durability and a professional appearance, with a soft suede inner leg panel for comfort against riding breeches. The elastic gore on the back and side panels provides stretch and flexibility, making them ideal for active young riders.

While these half chaps are designed to pair perfectly with the Ariat Scout Zip Paddock Boot, the YKK side zipper and stretch skirt over the instep make them compatible with most youth paddock boots and riding boots of similar proportions. Just check that your boot shaft isn't too wide or narrow for the best fit.

Full-grain leather half chaps should be wiped clean with a damp cloth after riding to remove dirt and sweat. For deeper cleaning, use a leather cleaner, and periodically condition the leather to keep it soft and prevent cracking—treating them like your child's other quality riding gear will extend their lifespan.

Ariat Scout half chaps are sized for youth riders, though specific age ranges depend on individual sizing. Since kids grow quickly, we recommend checking the detailed size chart on the product page and measuring your child's leg length and calf circumference for the most accurate fit.

Yes, these half chaps are specifically designed for everyday performance riding, making them perfect for lessons and casual barn time. The simple, classic equestrian design works in almost any riding discipline, and the durable leather and elastic construction hold up well to regular use.
