Disappointed
"I bought 2 of these after reading positive reviews but have been very disappointed. The slats on the lids were too close together for my horses to be able to pull hay through. Removing the lids completely defeats the purpose of buying these as slow feeders. It was impractical to return them as the boxes were cut open and discarded before installing the feeders and I couldn’t find replacement boxes that were larger enough and heavy duty enough to send them back. So my husband unwelded the slats and rewelded them to made the spaces larger but they still don’t work well, as the hay gets pushed down it forms little “holes” and the horses can’t get to it. The upright poles that hold the lids in place continually loosen and the plastic protectors at the top of each one has come off. I’ve had to put duct tape over them to keep the sharp metal from injuring my horses. I’ve actually stopped using them altogether and consider them a huge waste of money."
