How to Measure a Horse for a Blanket
The most accurate and easiest way to determine your horse’s blanket size is to measure along the side of their body, from chest to tail. First, stand the horse square on a flat surface. Measure from the center of the chest, straight back to the very edge of the tail. Make sure to measure along the widest part of their shoulder and hindquarters. The number of inches measured in this way is your horse’s size. Look on the size chart for any Schneiders blanket for this number of inches to order your horse’s perfect size.

"I bought a size 68 for my 15'1 quarter horse TB cross. Others blankets I tried were too big in the neck, and I thought that a bad fit was partly the reason his mane was rubbed off at the end of the winter. Although I might have thought he was a 70, the 68 fit perfectly in every way, and the neck is a not too big. I like that there is adjustability in the front, ample tail cover, and the sides don't hang down as long as other blankets. I wanted to get the heavyweight in the same blanket--unfortunately sold out for now in a 68."

The cut seems a bit “higher” than I am used to, but overall it does its job! He is usually an 82/84 in other brands (amigo) but I get him an 80 in Schneiders. They tend to run on the bigger side!"
