Schneiders® Uxeter Snaffle Kimberwick

The Schneiders Uxeter Snaffle Kimberwick comes with a 5-inch stainless steel mouth, which is the standard size for most adult horses. If you're unsure whether this size is right for your horse, we recommend measuring your horse's current bit or consulting with your trainer, as proper fit is essential for comfort and performance.

The Kimberwick bit is ideal for horses that tend to pull or lean on a regular snaffle, as it offers leverage options that a simple snaffle doesn't provide. The lower slots apply gentle pressure to the poll and curb, giving you more control while still maintaining the smooth snaffle action through the top slots, making it a versatile middle ground between a snaffle and a curb bit.

Yes, the mouth is made of stainless steel, which is durable, corrosion-resistant, and easy to clean and maintain. Stainless steel is a popular choice for quality bits because it won't rust and is gentle on horses' mouths.

Yes, the Schneiders Uxeter Snaffle Kimberwick includes both curb hooks and a curb chain, so you have everything you need to use the bit right out of the box. The chain helps distribute pressure evenly and activates the leverage features of the Kimberwick cheeks.

The bit diameter is 13mm, which is a medium thickness that's comfortable for most horses while still providing adequate control. This thickness strikes a good balance between sensitivity and durability.

The Schneiders Uxeter Snaffle Kimberwick has two rein attachment options: the top slots function like a regular snaffle with direct rein contact, while the lower slots activate the poll and curb pressure for increased leverage. You can choose which slots to use based on your horse's needs and your riding style—many riders use the lower slots for additional control when their horse needs it.
