Key benefits

The Best Insect Protection a Fly Boot Can Offer

The Mosquito Mesh® Fly Boot is made from a 350D extra-fine window screen mesh that provides playful ponies the best fly protection against flying insects, such as gnats, mosquitos, and flies. The 40% UV protection keeps their legs safe in the sun, while the mesh allows for exceptional air circulation and doesn't heat up in the sun, keeping them cool and sweat-free.

Everything You Need to Know About Fly Boots

Non-Fitted Design for Extra Airflow

Non-fitted boots are designed to fit around the top and bottom of the boot to keep flies out while staying off the leg, allowing for exceptional airflow. These are a favorite for those who live in warmer climates. Since the boot stays off the leg and keeps flies away, some love to use this style if their horse is recovering from a leg injury. You don’t have to worry about these boots slouching, you’ll find that the full-length hook and loop closure down the cannon bone, flexible stays, and fleece-lined top and bottoms keep the boots upright during wear.

Made to Withstand Your Playful Pony

The Mosquito Mesh® Fabric is made to withstand your playful pony. Since the flexible stays keep this boot upright, you can turn them out knowing they’ll be protected from biting bugs and stay comfortable all season.

Full-Length Reflective Side Panels

A full-length reflective side panel adds an additional safety element for low light and night turnout and trail riding.

Reviews

Fantastic

"These have survived a whole season and still look good. They are comfortable and do not leave sores. Very happy."

— Bob (5/5)

Great fly boots!

"I purchased the Schneiders Mosquito Mesh fly boots for my 4 horses who live outside. They’ve been on about a month and have held up well so far. They haven’t sagged down or twisted on their legs. The stitching is intact and they keep the bugs off their legs. I like the soft neoprene edging which helps prevent rubs. Despite the heat and humidity, my horses don’t sweat under them. The boots have stayed on all the horses except for my old grey mare, who figured out how to slip out of the hind boots without unfastening them. I don’t know how she does it! My only complaint is that I wish the hind boots were taller than the fronts. All 4 boots are about the same height. Regardless, I really like these fly boots and would recommend them!"

— ALICE D. (5/5)

Lightweight

"I like that these are light weight and breathable. I also do not have to worry about sticks or other things getting trapped in them as I do with other designs."

— Sydney (5/5)

Best fly boots ever

"I live in SC, the flies and bugs are horrendous. It's also very humid here and the other type of fly boots, like the stand up ones are too heavy, trap in moisture, and then the horse/pony develops skin issues under the boots, and the cycle begins. Not with these boots! They stay up, their legs are cool and they're durable. I use them on my 13. 2 hand Welsh pony every day and they're the best money I've spent for fly boots. Highly recommend! They're are others on the market, but they don't hold up like these. Money well spent!"

— SUSAN G. (5/5)

Love these!

"I love a lot of things about these boots. My horse developed an allergy to flies in his golden years. I love how these hug his leg while also not touching his leg. They. Hold up AWESOME! He has worn them all night a couple times by accident and they never fall down or come off! This will be a must have for me from now on!"

Mesh fly boots

"I love them!"

— Kristin L. (5/5)

Relief from day one

"These Schneider's fly boots provided relief for my mare from day one. She was experiencing simple fly bite dermatitis on her hind pasterns due to her fine coat. No more stomping with these boots. They are breathable which is beneficial in our hot, humid climate, and durable. A great investment and my girl is much happier."

— BEATRICE L. (5/5)

I tried these fly boots

"I tried these fly boots out this year as a new option for three out of four of my horses. I really love these boots and wish that they made them large enough for my big draft boy. They stay up great without all the hard plastic that holds other models up and they hold up good considering mine are on 24/7 except for baths and when I rinse them off and let them dry out. I even took and had the reflective part embroidered with some emergency information in case they got out, or a storm rolled through, and they found themselves lost. I already ordered another set for the three for next year as a backup for when these do need to be replaced, because let's face it, nothing is 100% solid to where it never gets damaged or needs replacing!"

— DANIELLE L. (5/5)

Absolutely love these. My mare

"Absolutely love these. My mare always gets cut by Shoofly boots around her pasterns. These boots are so soft that she never gets rubs from them. They are sturdy and keep their shape great. Sometimes she gets them off but they are easy to find in a field. Overall, I’m very happy with these boots and will buy more. Also, I have told my friends to get them too. They have and they think they are amazing too."

— Kate S. (5/5)

Solved the stomp!

"These have done a great job at keeping flies off my horses legs and significantly curtailed the constant stomping they were doing!"
