If your helmet sustains any impact during a fall, it should be replaced—even if there's no visible damage—because the internal structure may be compromised and won't provide proper protection. Similarly, both the helmet and removable panel should be replaced after impact, as the removable panel may release upon hard contact and cannot be reliably reused.
