Nikwax Synthetic Rug Proof™
Rug Proof is a wash-in waterproofing for horse rugs/blankets. It adds water repellency and revives breathability to blankets. It's easy to use water-based waterproofing for all canvas, synthetic and cotton, lined or unlined horse rugs.

How to Use:
Apply Nikwax Rug Proof™ in the washing machine…
IMPORTANT: Shake bottle before use. Conventional detergent can damage water-repellency. Always clean blanket first with Nikwax Rug Wash in a separate wash cycle.
Industrial, laundromat size machine:
1. Remove all detergent build-up from the detergent dispenser.
2. Place maximum of 1 blanket in washing machine.
3. Add 17fl oz/500ml of Rug Proof.
4. Select a normal cycle using warm/cold water, slow spin and extra rinse if possible.
Use Nikwax Rug Proof™ by hand…
Hand Wash (use gloves):
1. Add 17fl oz/500ml of Rug Proof in 2.5gal/10L of warm water in laundry tub or sink.
2. Agitate to mix, add and immerse entire blanket.
3. Add additional 4gal/15L of warm water to cover blanket and agitate.
4. Leave to soak for 2 hours, agitating occasionally.
5. Rinse in cold water until water runs clear.
Sponge Application (use gloves):
1. Spread clean blanket on clean area and wet thoroughly.
2. For 1 blanket, mix 17fl oz/500ml with 0.5gal/1.5L of warm water.
3. Use new sponge to apply solution to blanket, working into fabric and seams.
4. Leave for 5-10 minutes.
5. Rinse in cold water until water runs clear.
Drying:
Dry according to garment instructions.
To maintain waterproofing always wash waterproof blankets with a Blanket/Rug Wash. Do not use conventional detergents. Be sure to check your blanket's care instructions and warranty terms before using blanket wash and re-proofing products.
